Cüneyt Çakır - Hungary v England
DIR By: bmb
Date: September 2, 2021, 11:59 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Might as well start it now!
Waiting for the fan march to arrive, I'm not allowed to join in!
Mr bmb is a grumpy old man and a spoilsport! They're starting at
Hősök tere, the pyros and noise is immense already. Our
Federation president, manager, players & even the capo from the
Carpathian Brigade ultras have all begged the fans in the
press/on social media/on TV to not boo the England players
taking the knee. Mr Csányi has said anyone found to do so will
be banned for life. There is a suggestion to sing himnusz during
it. Hopefully the ultras will be well placed around the ground
and will ensure that is all that can be heard, all the ultra
groups are in on this and normally if the Carpathian Brigade
ultras demand it, it happens, no-one wants to argue with them.
I've seen suggestions they will remove anyone booing themselves
and hand them over to the Rendőrség...
As the majority of you are England fans, enjoy the game but
don't be too disappointed with the 2-1 defeat - Szalai,
Szoboszlai with a screamer for the winner and a Kane consolation
goal on 90+4! [emoji6]
Hopefully in a few hours time we will be discussing a superb
game, well refereed in a fantastic, very loud atmosphere.
Hajrá Magyarok! Csak együtt! Ria Ria Hungaria!

Kane penalty too, after he “collapses” in the area when the
nearest defender gets close to him

Had to laugh at that one Hendo, the idea that we have
defenders... [emoji23]

Couple of iffy decisions… certainly looked like a foul on I
think Sterling right before Rice took out a Hungary player 25
yards out.
Bollar deserved his card for a step on the ankle of Grealish.
A dreadful game nonetheless.

Distasteful behaviour from the Hungarian fans if truth be
told….. another stadium ban will be issued no question.

Mr Csányi was furious. Up to him to get ruthless now & rid the
decent majority of the complete and utter scum who shamed us
(again) tonight. [emoji35] We are sick of them.
Guess that 1 suspended match will now be added to the 2 we have
in UEFA matches and a similar ban for FIFA matches as well.
Some of our 'fans' do not deserve our manager & our team or any
success...
I am so angry right now.
Well done on the win - fully deserved.
Just to end on something vaguely positive - the difference on
the pitch - Rice chucking a paddy over a perfectly correct
yellow that was pretty close to a red, followed by Willi Orbán
fist bumping the ref in response to his equally deserved yellow!
As for the ref - he wore y****w - enough said!

Unfortunately the behaviour we saw tonight comes right from the
top of the nation (under the “control” of he who will NOT be
named) - if you give the people the green light to act like that
in most facets (or fascists) of everyday life - then they will.
The enabling dog whistle reigns supreme…

I think Rice was very lucky, other referees might have seen that
as a red card. He's lost control and then lunged to win it
back, and that is the most common cause of SFP red cards.
I thought England were outstanding, as well as they have played
in a qualifier for a long, long time. And that was in a very
hostile atmosphere against a team that had only lost 1 in 14 and
had held France and Germany to draws in the Euros.
As for the fan behaviour, there isn't much to say. Throwing
anything at players, even if just cups, cannot be allowed and
that in its own right should see sanctions. If the alleged
racist chanting is proven then FIFA should be adding to UEFA's
play behind closed doors ruling. Unfortunately whilst racism in
Western Europe has been dramatically reduced, in Eastern Europe
it appears it is still very much deemed acceptable. Very sad to
see.

I don't agree that it is deemed acceptable, certainly not by the
majority. There are many more Hungarians disgusted by the
utterly despicable behaviour of a section of our fans than
aren't. The federation has already received thousands of
complaints from our own fans about it. Mr bmb has been in a
crisis meeting about it since the end of the game, he works for
the Federation & was working at the game tonight. We've had
hundreds of complaints via our website because people seem to
think we are the official site - I've been forwarding the emails
onto the official Federation email addresses including those not
in the public domain! There is a lot of anger from decent
Hungarians about it.
It happens yes and shamefully so but not just in Hungary. The
West is not that much better, it's only 6/7 weeks ago that some
England fans thought it 'acceptable' to racially abuse 3 of
their own players and to send death threats to them for missing
penalties. The same 'fans' that boo'd their own players taking
the knee, boo'd other nations National Anthems and sang songs
about German bombers during a match v Germany. It is still a
problem as a whole, in the West as well as the East & central
Europe. My son has never once been racially abused in Hungary,
he walks around there feeling safe & secure, in England he has
been racially abused so many times that I have lost count. It is
not the Hungarian people, as a nation (despite those at the tops
best efforts...) it is a despicable hooligan element within our
fanbase. Wherever it happens it is shameful, it is despicable
and there should be no place for it anywhere. FIFA & UEFA need
to do more & be consistent. They are not right now. They fine
and ban the small nations, they let it go with the big nations.
There needs to be a whole revamp - minimum 5 match behind closed
doors ban, for any nation whose fans behave so despicably, big
nations, small nations, it should not matter. Home Federations
have to do more, life time bans for those responsible and better
education programs. Those in the Ivory Towers, at national and
international level need to finally stop burying their heads in
the sand and really get tough on it. Decent fans, from
everywhere have had enough of putting up with this, it really
shouldn't be a thing in society at large, let alone at football.
Like the majority of fans I just want to go to a game & come
away full of pride from my team having put in a performance,
win, lose or draw instead of being so angry that I am still up
at 3.30am, fuming because a section of the crowd thought it was
ok to embarrass and shame the nation with their disgusting
behaviour. Not sure I am going to calm down any time soon
either! Those responsible let the nation down, they let the
players down and they let our manager down & I'll bet they don't
even care that they have done so. [emoji35]
