atkinson wrong to send off Stephens as it was a minimal yellow
card but pressure from Cardiff players made him flash the red
hooper wrong to disallow southampton's goal according to Charlie
Austin and from what he says should have stood

You have to be joking? That is as clear a red card as you are
ever likely to see. Straight leg, high, out of control, contact
on shin. It ticks every box required for SFP.

That was a red card challenge from Stephens all day.

I’d be more worried if atkinson hadn’t shown a red card. Under
the laws of the game, that challenge was a blatant red card
offence.

This is the second weekend in a row we've had some utter garbage
from certain quarters of the SG1 brigade.
Grandad East was the star of the show last week with the non
penalty at the London Stadium coupled with Probert's failure to
bin Bamba of Cardiff and award a Leicester penalty.
This week Hooper and to a degree Tierney and his assistant have
matched and/or eclipsed this.
Worrying times at the moment.....

Don't know why everyone was worried by Taylor's appointment -
including me!

Can't we get back to using this section for comments just on
the appointments and post any comments on performance in
General Discussion? It's a bit confusing to have the latter in
two sections.

I won't quibble about one or two decisions I wasn't sure about.
Mr Taylor got all the key match incidents right and managed the
game well.
There are a lot of games where I don't have the inclination to
write a report on a referees performance and the appointments
thread seems as good a place as any to post a brief comment.
