       Certainly not my favourite referee and to be honest I'm
       surprised he's stayed on the list for so long. Although that
       could be said about several others.

       He's refereed Southend 13 times, mostly away from home
       (unsurprising for geographical reasons - although one of those
       away games was at Portsmouth!!).
       I've always thought him to be a decent-ish, steady journeyman of
       a referee, but he was never likely to be selected for the
       full-time Select Group 2. Was one of the .. er bulkier referees
       when he started out. Not so now and clearly coping with the
       rigours of the fitness tests.
