promoted to select group kavanagh should have had the Leicester
game and would have not booked gray as game being first scene
owner died scott still not up to reffing a premier league
fixture properly so stuck in lower league

Unless you're Chris Kavanagh, you can't know if he would've
booked Gray or not - bizarre reason for Kavanagh to have the
game and not someone else.

How do you know what Kavanagh would or wouldn’t have done?
There are 10 PL games every weekend, which only need 10
referees, so others are going to referee elsewhere.
What does ‘stuck in lower league’ mean? Are PL games more worthy
than League 2?

I suspect that of all the Premier League referees Chris Kavanagh
would be one of the most likely to caution. He's young and
ambitious, so if PGMOL (and of course the laws) say that he has
to caution he will caution, not doing so would risk messing up
his rise through the ranks. Whereas Probert is coming to the
end of his career, but he still cautioned as he really had
little option.

I wouldn’t exactly say scott is stuck in lower league, premier
league refs are contracted to referee any game from league two
to premier league, i am sure once the hierachy thinks scott can
do premier league games again he shall. Kavanagh couldn’t gave
done the leicester game anyway as he had them two gameweeks ago.

Of more concern would be the failure of Roger East and assistant
to award a penalty at West Ham and 2 poor calls from experienced
assistants that ruled out goals (@Arsenal and @Wolves). In the
positive column great advantage from East leading to a goal and
perfect positioning by Mike Dean to award 2 penalties

Was a dreadful decision not to give the penalty. I saw the
advantage he played leading to a goal, he went back and
cautioned the Burnley player.
It did look at first glance a nasty one, potentially leading to
East dipping into his pocket to retrieve his circular card.
Playing the advantage negates that however.

1. As you have been told several times select group referees are
contracted to referee in all 4 divisions and not just the
premier league, the premier league also have a legal obligation
to provide a set number of referees appointed in football league
games every week. There are only 10 PL games on any given match
day so not all select groups can be allocated a PL game.
2. Kavanagh is required to uphold the laws of the game, as is
every other referee, including mandatory bookings, whatever the
circumstances and a failure to do so would not not bode well for
his future, I sincerely doubt he would deliberately fail to give
a mandatory booking out of sentiment.
3. Graham Scott has been out injured, it is perfectly normal for
any SG ref who has been out injured to be eased back into games
in a lower division. It has been standard practice for years.
4. Don't be so disrespectful to the football league. There is
life outside of the PL, it is not the be all and end all.
