Chris Kavanagh - Fulham v Newcastle

Two questions about two incidents that had absolutely no bearing
on the match/final score
1) How on earth does VAR not ask Kavanagh to overturn the
penalty and issue a YC for simulation by the Newcastle player?
He clearly pulled his legs up and threw himself to the floor
2) Why only 1 minute of additional time, where there'd been 6
substitutions and some injuries. Fulham wouldn't have scored
had they played an additional hour, but where's the consistency?

Kavanagh has gone off the boil the last few games.... wasn’t
particularly impressed this afternoon either.
But now we focus on the dross in SG2 again for next season....

I would rather have the dross than VAR though.

[/quote]I would have anything but VAR...........sick of it
i knew how bad it was going to be after the World Cup in
Russia........a brilliant tournament spoilt by terrible
officiating..

The thing with VAR for me is that it’s wholly subjective, so
it’s not an infallible system.
I really feel for the referees as they are totally at the mercy
of the VAR.
I feel like Chris has performed very well over the season, but
has been let down a lot by his VARs this season.

What did you think was terrible about the officiating at the
last WC?

I too would be interested to know. I thought aside from the
issue of referees at least appearing to be encouraged not to
deal strictly with dissent and something of a relaxed line in
terms of careless/reckless, VAR operated quite well and there
were some very fine performances.

Two examples which I hope might show why people might disagree
with this statement -
West Ham v Chelsea red card for balbuena goes over to screen and
changes his decision to red card (later overturned).
Merseyside Derby- goes over to screen to check penalty sticks
with his decision. It’s that inconsistency
