Well, the overruled penalty
At first I thought it was a pen. The more I looked at it I
thought it wasn't. I don't think the follow through was as late
as it looked
Opinions?

For me no penalty. There is contact on flow through but it is
not with the studs and falls into the category of incidental
rather than foul contact for me.
Having said that, I felt it was a subjective call and one could
quite reasonably see it as a foul. The VAR intervention was not
correct IMO, nor consistent with the standard for 'follow
through' contact type fouls we have seen this season.

If it was indeed a foul, which I'm not 100% sure of I thought
the follow through contact was just outside the box

I'm OK on it not being a foul, the issue I have is there is no
way that matches other applications of clear and obvious errors.
Compare this to the Fulham keeper handling out of the area on
Monday, that was way, way more of a clear and obvious error but
wasn't even looked at.

It’s probably not a penalty but the referee gave it and VAR has
rerefereed the game to a standard far below what’s it meant to
be used for.
VAR can’t remove what causes issues which is inconsistency just
highlights it further

Very poor from Anthony Taylor. A clear second yellow and red for
McTominey. Haven’t a clue what Taylor is watching.
