Almost certainly.
He comes to Southend fresh from a cardless match at Stevenage
last Tuesday; the last season he had two consecutive cardless
matches was 2006/7 so long odds on a repeat Saturday.

I wonder two things. How often any referee has two consecutive
cardless matches ? What is the longest number of consecutive
matches (in recent times ) that a referee has been cardless ?
[/quote]
Thought Grant Hegley might be a candidate. He had four
consecutive cardless matches in 2007/8.
In his last two seasons he showed just a miserly 76 yellow cards
in 63 matches of which 24 were cardless.

If you allow cup matches, then Tom Bramall wins this season with
3 in a row. Only one since though.
David Webb and Dean Whitestone have consecutive league clean
sheets, and there’s a few more “cup doubles”, including Lee
Mason.

If one is looking to award an accolade of least punitive referee
of more recent times then Grant Hegley would always be a pretty
safe bet. A very good referee and a most delightful and
characterful person. Having said that, I do have a rare
Collector's item, a Red Card from Hegley. It was given in a Play
Off semi final when he had come on as 4th Official after the
referee went down injured. The offence happened about twenty
feet from where I was sitting. The most obvious handball by a
defender on the goal line preventing a goal being scored.
Hegley, as they say, had no option other than to dismiss.

Grant Hegley's last match was at Portman Road. He went off
injured. I wasn't at the match but I expect m'learned friend
nemesis probably was. Hegley didn't recover for the rest of that
season and decided to retire at the end of it. A great loss to
senior refereeing.

I can remember Roger Furnandiz showing a red card - he Hegley
and a couple of others had chronic withdrawl symptoms with the
circle of doom

I too remember Roger Furnandiz showing a red card, and they were
quite Collectors' items too. At Luton for a defender hauling
back an attacker bearing down on goal with only the GK in front
of him.
