Cooper ?? Hooper?
Your use of the word "suggest" would imply that these were your
predictions before the appointments were announced as they are
spot on. If so, then I wish you had been advising me on which
horse to back in the Grand National. Such accuracy of tips would
be invaluable. My horse was the first to pull up ( which I guess
is testimony to its intelligence if not its racing prowess ! 0

Sorry, phone autocorrected Coote to Cooper and I predicted the
fa semis before announced. Tbf it wasn't that difficult.
Kavanagh was the only FIFA ref with no game from Championship r
Pl and he has var on Saturday so he was always getting that.
Then there's never a scenario with no Mike Dean

Atkinson and Dean ( or possibly Tierney ) for the FA Cup Semis
then ?

probably been mentioned already so apologies but it is harder
for me to look things up now I have lost all vision! It was
mentioned on BT a few weeks aog that Mike Dean had decided not
to to retire and would be continuing next season - has there
been any more news on this/other refs or was it just an informal
conversation between Dean and the commentator?

I heard a rumour back in January that Graham Scott is retiring.
There's also been suggestions about Mason since whistle gate

I feel for both Mason and Scott, they are two who when they make
errors are not afforded any mercy (unlike Taylor, Oliver, Moss,
Atkinson, Dean, Marriner etc). It seems very unfair that two
referees can make very similar errors but can be treated very
differently.

I’ve said it before Oliver is far too quick with his whistle.
That penalty for Everton last night was pathetic.

I wouldn't say it was quite pathetic as I couldn't see a
conclusive angle on the coverage I was watching. What I would
agree with you on though is Oliver blows for a lot of penalties
that fall into something of a VAR grey area. Not clear enough to
be overturned once whistled but not something the VAR would call
the referee for had he not awarded it.

It certainly caused some confusion among the Sky pundits.
Carragher initially said it was a penalty, then having looked at
it again said he couldn't see anything; but then at HT, Rednapp
explained why he thought it was a penalty.
The most striking thing for me is that I didn't notice any
complaints from the Spurs players, not even the offender. Are
footballers so polite and respectful of a referee's decision
these days that they abstain from appealing or protesting when
they think they have been hard done by?
I must say it would be news to me.

Yes, that completely sold it for me. Reguillon isn't normally
quiet when a decision goes against him, yet he didn't say a word
here and that can only really mean he knows that he caught him.

I think it shows that Oliver isn't afraid to blow for pens now
despite the var.
He had his hands on his back. Even if there is no force, its a
pen these days
Oliver wasn't at the best angle so it was brave of him to give
it
Overall I'd say pen
