A game of two halves from Kavanagh was decent till the
disallowed goal from then till half time he lost his way a bit
and lost the respect of the players
Second half he was ok , could easily have sent off McTominay for
a few fouls , this season he has by no means been the Chris
Kavanagh that burst onto the scene when he came into the PL

Not helped by players from both sides who are bringing the game
into disrepute with some of their antics.

I still think Kavanagh still has the potential, and probably
will be, our third elite referee within the next 12-18 months. I
think a few CL group games next season will lead to a
Christmas/end of 2021-22 season promotion to elite. I believe he
is 35 so plenty of time still.

The injustice of the disallowed goal in the first half certainly
fired up United. I agree Kavanagh was ok in the 2nd half when
he might have been affected by what happened towards half time.
The only positive I can find from disallowing the goal was that
at least he took no further action against McTominay as it was
deemed 'careless'. I didn't actually notice anything obvious
that might have led to a second YC for a United player.
That said, United need to do something about the way they clock
up YCs. 5 on Thursday although 2 were a joke, and 5 today all
merited in my view. Shaw, Fred and MaGuire are the regular
culprits and sooner or later players will be sent off. Just an
opinion but United are poor and tend to be clumsy at tackling
and too frequently are on the wrong side of an opponent to make
a fair challenge - bad positioning. They are even naive when it
comes to tactical fouls which often produce a YC. Perhaps they
could learn something from their near neighbours on that score.

If fernandes and pogba were carded when they should be in each
match, they would be in deeper trouble.
Not a confident performance from kavanagh today, half time came
at the right time for him.
Dont think there was a clear and obvious error by kavanagh in
the lead up to the disallowed goal for var to intervene, the
result of which did him no favours at all.

I think we can only have 2 elite referees. I stand to be
corrected though.

Thinking on it, I think we are both wrong and it is 3. For a
long while it was Webb, Atkinson and Clattenburg,
