Chris Kavanagh - Tottenham vs. Manchester United

Kavanagh been doing so well up until a couple of minutes ago
letting the game flow.
However we’ve now got two different tolerance levels. One for
Kavanagh during open play and one for when VAR talks him into
disallowing a goal based on what Sky Sports comms saying was
“accidental contact” made worse by Son throwing himself to the
floor as if he’s just been shot.
If I were a United player in the build up to the Spurs goal I
would have gone within a couple of yards of an opposing player -
clutch my face like I’d forgotten to switch the oven off and
fall over - thereby getting the goal disallowed

No rose tinted glasses from me but no way should Cavanis goal
have been disallowed Son grabbed Mctominay and he tried to push
him off no need for VAR interference at all once Kavanagh is
sent to the monitor surely it has to be deemed accidental ( goal
should stand ) or deliberate and mctominay receives his second
Yellow card and Red

Sky reporting they can hear the conversation and stating that
the contact was “accidental”.
If it was the case - this is making more of a mockery of the
game than usual

Can completely understand why Manchester United are extremely
unhappy with this. Both before and after the goal similar
incidents have not been penalised. Very inconsistent officiating
from Kavanagh. If this boils over he only has himself to blame.
This has nothing to do with VAR by the way. Kavanagh went to the
screen,,, it was his interpretation & decision. The players are
quickly losing all faith and confidence in him to manage this
game effectively and make correct and consistent decisions.

One other thing - if what Sky are saying is true and they can
hear the conversation between the OFR and Shockley Park - then
there’s absolutely no excuse for the same feed to not be
broadcast on the coverage.

Big fan of Kavanagh but since VAR got involved and that decision
change he has been abysmal - he’s totally lost control of the
game. A nonsense yellow for Cavani as well.
I’m sorry and do me for libel whatever but the only way to
describe what is Son has (edited , clear breach of our forum
rules we do not accept use of that word EVER) by rolling around
clutching his face when the contact is bare minimum at best.
We’ve seen some shocking decisions this weekend but That is
absolutely disgusting. That is not football!

Riddle me this - how can you give a foul for accidental contact
(which was one of the conclusions on the conversation with VAR)?

I personally don’t think he has been on the game from the
start, some niggley fouls going unpunished,Pogba leading with his
forearm,he could well be forced to start dishing cards to keep
control

If they are saying it was careless use of the arm and not a
natural movement, what do they think the attempted grab of
McTominay by Son was which preceded it? And what about phase of
play - is that relevant or not?

The bigger issue is the ruinous fasttracking of VAR. Had they
trialled it properly, over a few years, it could have been a
great thing. At the moment it’s about as rewarding as a smart
speaker that senses when you’re on the cusp of XXXXX, and at
that precise moment starts playing your mother’s voice.
(Careful please lol)😊
