goalkeepers didn't tend to wear black, except Lev Yashin.

grey. No teams were allowed to wear grey and so there was never

ridiculous all the time, and referees have been subjected to the
       same madness.

It would appear that Late Tackle and I or of one mind ...., this
was what I said at the start of last week in the discussion
about Steven Martin's kit faux par the previous weekend:
"How about this for a way forward ...... we (match officials)
will wear black - you (teams) don't ?? I do realise that I am a
dinosaur and need pensioning off, but this did work for about
100 years. It was only our Caledonian cousins in their national
team kit that caused a problem - with a rare sighting of the
red, or yellow referee's shirt for the odd Home International
match - apart from that, black seemed to work fine."
       Great minds ;)

I do not recall allowing you to leave the naughty step! Get back
there right now & wash your mouth out with soap and water on the
       way!
I'm off to the admin panel to find where I can set the Y word to
automatically change to vile disgusting colour everytime anyone
       uses it!

It's a light aqua colour more than green really.
Oh and you can go and join TTFL on the naughty step for agreeing

Well bmb may have her detestation of yellow ( actually my mind
is still racing at the thought of her cane ! ) but I detest the
light aqua with equal vehemence whereas I think the current
purple kit, no doubt there is a fancy name for that also, is
       extremely smart.

Sexy is what it is! The purple kit not Craig!! I'd describe it
       as berry/mulberry. It's gorgeous!! I want one ;D
The aqua one looks dreadful under floodlights. Very pale and
       washed out.

I hope Mrs W isn’t a keen advocate of the use of that cane
       implement! 😂

I should like to make it clear that in giving Whistleblower's
above post an "Agree" I was referring to the opinions on the
colours - and definitely not to the thought of bmb and her cane.

good fifth alternative to the PL...

I think mulberry is a very good description. 'Sexy' isn't a
concept I had hitherto associated with the colour...or indeed
with Craig Pawson but I shall endeavour to have an open
       mind.....about them both.

Thank you for making that clear JCFC. I did say my mind was
racing but I was most careful in not saying in which direction.
