       Throw Ins

I don't know if this is "a thing" at present but the number of
foul throws going unpunished during televised games is growing
       exponentially.
Some folk will likely say that, in the bigger picture, provided
it's somewhere near, to penalise would be petty and an
       unnecessary delay in the game.
However, wearing both Referee and Coach hats, when trying to
educate youngsters in particular, to see so many foul throws get
       away doesn't help
Anyone else have a view please?

If its the most obvious of worst throw ins of all time, so
obvious its a insult to the lotg not to penalise it, then i
might give it some thought. More so if they are clearly on the
pitch, more so if it leads to a attacking advantage
Other than that, its simply a method of restarting play, if it
looks like a throw in, great
If it clearly cannot in anyway be described as a legal throw,
       then penalise.

Let players get away with it, let players get away with not
retiring 10 yards on set plays, let players get away with taking
free kick when the ball may be rolling slightly etc., etc.
Then don't moan when a player questions any other decision you
may make because he has seen that you are willing to bend the
Laws in some cases but you penalise other things.

Throw ins, free kicks are never taken from the correct position
nowadays and very rarely foul throw ins penalised.
I am surprised that penalty kicks are taken from the spot twelve
       yards from the goal.

       Definitely.
Has anyone else noticed a movement towards the “continental”
style of signalling advantage over the last month or so?

       I have.
I think I recall seeing a post, maybe on this site, saying that
this is now the default signal.
       Not in my house.
The two armed signal I have used for 30odd years is easily
detectable and unmistakable. The "new" one could be easily
       mistaken for summat else

Hopefully....its more suitable to our running plus gives us
optimal view, instead of partial block
I find I use the older one middle park, newer one closer to
       goal.
Pretty sure the new signal be the recognised one very soon.

Throw-ins, free kicks, players not retreating, ball moving
slightly...... all in the interests of keeping the game moving
       which I applaud.

Anyone demanding the perfect throw in must then in the interests
of consistency ensure not only the technique is correct, but,
that the throw is taken from the correct place, which of course,
is from where it went out of play.
We all allow few yards here and there on the location, we also
allow a degree of flexibility on the delivery

Both signals are in the LOTG in Law 05 in the graphics part.
They are both recognised and acceptable signals.
