Did I not hear somewhere that Lee was accidentally bowled over
early in the game at WBA and it was thought that this might have
affected his confidence and performance? I didn't see the
collision on MOTD or evidence during the game that he was hurt,
but perhaps he really is injured rather than using injury as an
excuse to step aside today.

He cetainly was bowled over by Gallagher who really clattered
him. He got up quickly and shared a laugh with the offending
player because it was a pure accident. It certainly would have
shook him up, however, I can't comment on whether or not this
affected anything else, only Lee can answer that question. I
would not be surprised if he did sustain an injury which
manifested itself later in the game because he really was sent
flying.
I thought at the time that it was a good job that he was not a
player because he would probably have been rolllling around,
holding his head etc., etc. ad nauseam. He just got up and
carried on.

Per the premier league website.
Martin Atkinson has replaced Craig Pawson at Anfield tonight,
Kevin Friend has replaced Atkinson as 4th official for the West
Brom v Everton game.

Craig Pawson stood down from refereeing LFC v Chelsea as a
precaution after being informed that a close contact had tested
positive for coronavirus. He will now isolate and has been
replaced by Martin Atkinson this evening. (@dmlynch on Twitter)
