Team Seasonal Files

As I am sure you are aware I have compiled a large amount of
referee data thanks to help from various people on this group,
and due to trolling through various newspapers over various
years. I am now in the process of compiling it all, and I am
doing season by season, team by team pdf files. [Main reason I
felt over burdened trying to compile multiple teams all at once]
I have created various methods and layouts in excel, but found
inputting data for multiple teams all at once, tiresome and
tedious.
I have attached file, which I plan to use as a template for all
teams I compile now, and thought in future it might be of
interest to some members here, as it obviously includes
referees, but may interest those who enjoy reminiscing about old
matches etc.

Excellent, thanks very much mande70. I was certainly at Highbury
for the League game against Crystal Palace in Nov 1970. The ref
was Denis Turner and it was one of the wettest afternoons I've
ever had to endure at a top flight game, Highbury not having
cover at the clock end where the visiting supporters were
located. I'm not sure whether I was at Selhurst Park when David
Smith refereed the return. As a matter of interest, although you
have not included the League Cup, the Palace v Arsenal 4th round
tie and replay were both refereed by Norman Burtenshaw (I was
present at both), and the Palace won 2-0 in the replay, thus
depriving Arsenal of the opportunity of a unique treble in
domestic competitions.

Sorry, a couple of errors noted:
Leeds v Arsenal, April 1971 - referee was Norman Burtenshaw
rather than Clive Thomas, as confirmed in Norman's autobiography
Tottenham v Arsenal, final League game of the season - this was
surely refereed by Kevin Howley (his last game) rather than Bob
Matthewson?
Edit - Norman's autobiography says that Jim Finney was due to
referee the Leeds v Arsenal game (not the Arsenal v Stoke game
as shown on your list), and he (Norman) was asked to take over
this game after Jim was seriously injured in a car crash.

My post of Thursday 11 June 2020, with the subject-line "Ron
Finnerty - Thame, Oxfordshire", covers this :-
<snip>
Ron was on the line for the North London derby in May 1971, with
Kevin Howley in the middle :-

The programme on that page has a pen-pic of Kevin.

Great stats.
Just one slight correction for the European referees. It should
be Gerd Hennig (not Henning)
