Correct RC for DOGSO after OFR from Mike Dean. No way Dean could
have seen this in real time from his angle, AR2 could possible
have helped but tbf was probably quite far away. Unlucky for
Dean to have another incident like this after the huge
controversy over his last PL red card and I thought he looked
very nervous going over to the screen. But fair play to him he
kept his cool and made the right call.

Exactly my thinking.. The fact that he had Michael Oliver as big
brother would have been a massive help to him as well... Easy
call in fairness

He was going over to a screen though after been called by
Michael Oliver.. he must have felt confident enough.... Beats
having to deal with Graham Scott and Lee Mason

Not great from studio where Hardgreaves and Alan Townsend were
reviewing, quote Townsend
“ he has got that right unfortunately”
Now, it could be him feeling sorry for the defender but it came
across like a reluctant admission that the referee was correct,
instead of giving credit where it was due.

Thoughts about penalty? Many seem to feel Burnley should have
had one but I feel Mike Dean may have got it right.
Good idea to pair Dean with Oliver. Deliberate? Must have helped
imho.

MOTD produced some aerial gimmick which claimed to show that
neither Dean or the AR had a view as to whether it was handball.
Again we need to hear the VAR asking the referee "Did you have a
clear view of the handball?" "What handball?"

I have emailed SKY commenting that the comments (content and
tone) from some commentators and summarisers, together with
Studio Guests, few of whom know the laws and many of whom, I
suggest, have no clue about refereeing, serve only to inflame
things in terms of abuse / threats to Referees.
The fact that more games are now available for public viewing,
when allied to this can only encourage the (small number) of
absolute pie cans to take to their keyboards to vent their
spleen.
I am minded to send similar to BT and BBC
