Kevin Friend : Burnley vs Man Utd

A busy first half for Kevin Friend and VAR Stuart Attwell and
IMO both have been poor and Kevin Friend seems to have lost the
plot poor foul detection appears to look like a rabbit in
headlights at the moment you just don’t know what he is going to
give no way in the world should Maguires header have been
disallowed
Hope he and Attwell have a better second half because if Friend
doesn’t regain some sort of composure and control it could
reallly spiral

I have no idea how Stuart Atwell and Kevin Friend have come up
with a yellow card for Luke Shaw. Absolutely shocking decision.
How Friend doesn't see the first tackle is beyond me.

Agreed Dave. One of the poorest displays I’ve seen friend do in
a while. I can see why friend has “missed” it - from his
position it looks like a 50-50 which is what I thought at the
time. The replays slowed down always make it look worse. Shaw
just gets a touch on the ball which I think saves him. I think
they have got the decision just about right.
However a very poor decision to rule out the goal for maguire -
he just jumps up earlier, should have been given!

First viewing I thought the Macguire goal was good. When it’s
slowed down you can clearly see a hand in the back. Seen the
given both ways. As for the Shaw tackle. 100% red for me .
Forget the ball. The follow through is intentional. He knew what
he was doing. Another poor decision which benefits Man Utd .

I hope United don't lose their discipline. Cavani warned and
Fernandes carded for moaning. OGS and Maguire need to instill
composure on the players.
Not sure I agree with the pundits about the Shaw challenge. It
looked to me as if he caught the top of the ball but there was
the inevitable follow-through.
YC was ok for me.

He pushed Pieters in the back before he even left the ground and
then had his arms over the top of him.
Believe me, Burnley very, very rarely get any favours from Kevin
Friend, not that we expect favours ---just fairness.

Is that the correct protocol,He missed Shaws’tackle allows play
to continue, when another foul is committed, surely the only way
he can then go back and give a free kick against Shaw is to
issue a red card

Regarding the first two posts here - how is the VAR
responsible/partly to blame for the yellow card to Shaw?
Surely the VAR did well and the right thing in bringing the
tackle to Kevin Friend's attention and from that point on its up
to the ref only on the field to decide the card colour not the
VAR?

A much improved second half performance by Kevin Friend , a game
of two halves by Friend.

Help needed please. In added time two players went up for the
ball in the United penalty area and suffered head injuries and
the ball had been cleared and was in Burnley's possession 25
yards out when play was halted. The players were treated and
quickly back on their feet, however, play was restarted with a
drop ball for the United keeper. Have they changed this since
the start of the season and I missed it because play should have
restarted with a drop ball to a Burnley player if the
interpretation is stilll the same.
After 74 years this game gets more puzzling by the day and it
used to be so simple.
