Limited general knowledge - and copious use of Google - might
enable those few who wish to do so, to identify 31
operas/operettas, one for each day of the month. Sadly there is
only one mention of football and none of referees. Supply the
       definite articles as appropriate.
       1. Andalusian coiffeur.
       2. Larcenous bird.
       3. Lepidopterous female.

       8. A "monumental" virtue.
       9. Divers for oysters.
       10. "It's Mr Mackay's go now, Fletch."
       11. A warning shout - even in women's football.
       12. Sly petite fox.
       13. Lavatorial hurrah D Debussy's Sea tie-up.
       14. Defect in an expensive stocking.
       15. Mountain top: blast!
       16. Reddish blood.
       17. River treasure.
       18. Jack (or was it Kiki?) flogged a rodent.
       19. Neither pa, ... ...

These answers have all been offered without recourse to Google
and just the odd discreet look in Kobbe to check spellings. I
shall return to the remaining six another day.

You may well be right but I can't see either of them ( with the
exception of Patience being a virtue , but "monumental" ? ) and
Mountain Top Blast ! Pique-Dame, The Queen of Spades...don't
get it I'm afraid. Please explain to this dullard.

Shakespeare coined the phrase "like patience on a monument" in
Twelfth Night and it has since been used by others.
Not having jad's polyglot talents , I do insist on Pique Dame,
rather than the Russian title. Thus we hear Peak, Damn!
