only one mention of football and none of referees. Supply the
definite articles as appropriate.

You may well be right but I can't see either of them ( with the
exception of Patience being a virtue , but "monumental" ? ) and
Mountain Top Blast ! Pique-Dame, The Queen of Spades...don't
get it I'm afraid. Please explain to this dullard.

Shakespeare coined the phrase "like patience on a monument" in
Twelfth Night and it has since been used by others.
Not having jad's polyglot talents , I do insist on Pique Dame,
rather than the Russian title. Thus we hear Peak, Damn!
