VARce - Man Utd vs. Villa

An absolute farce, first PL game I've properly watched since
Boxing Day, and I refuse to watch any more. That penalty award
is just pure rank all round. Good old Tierney & Oliver involved
yet again in one of the worst decisions I have ever, ever seen.
Shambolic is a better word. This is what VAR was supposed to
eliminate.... shambles.

What are you on about?? Luiz trips Pogba's left leg. Yes it
might be soft, but Oliver couldn't be better placed to see it!

Luiz actually doesn't touch him, your eyesight must be awful!
Pogba actually kicks his own calf!! This is a shambles of a
decision, an absolute shambles.

This is why our officials have no clue whatsoever. A player
actively encouraging diving and they are rewarded moments later.
Our game is in ruin, it is now insufferable. A perfectly good
game spoiled by Michael Oliver and in particular Paul Tierney.

I felt that this was an okay performance at best overall from
Michael Oliver.. His decision making on yellow cards was
appalling. The penalty was very soft. Matic cautioned after his
tenth foul, Bruno Fernandez committed six and wasn't cautioned..

Yep, fed up to the back teeth of everyone turning a blind eye to
such incompetence game-in, game-out and officials destroying the
game. That penalty decision tonight is the ultimate disgrace,
it is a farce and an injustice against Aston Villa. Did Tierney
even bother checking it or just decide to go with Oliver's
incorrect call? Oh, do you know what, who cares anymore.
Nobody's brave enough to call it for what is it, a shambles. I
am so livid about another shambolic, pathetic decision.

I thought it was soft but not wrong - there was definitely
contact between Luiz and Pogba. It is definitely not a clear
and obvious error, so Tierney should not be referring it to the
screen.

It wasnt the farce that another posted has stated, but on close
examination i beg to differ, pogba appears to clip his right leg
With his left clue yellow boot not white. Whether the arm was
enough of a pull back from luiz i am not sure, very soft. Oliver
was in a great position and i dont blame him at all but the var
seemed to complete his check very quickly. As dean smith said it
looked a penalty all day long on initially, but one of the
latter replays from the stand looking down the penalty area
appeared to show otherwise. Perhaps the var didnt have That
angle available at the time.
I maybe looking at this through claret tinted eyes, but i am
usually the first to back the referee when in the crowd.
Good game, thought oliver carded a few of the utd players ie
matic and shaw a foul too late but otherwise was
Always in control as you would expect from one of our top refs.
Think man utd just about deserved their victory over the 90 mins
but villa have come a long way in a short time.
