Open letter to Jon Moss
Dear Mr Moss,
Please can you explain for us decent, honest fans where those 5
extra minutes came from? Maybe Mrs Moss needs to buy you a new
watch in the post Christmas sales.

Bit of an odd post, there were substitutions, injuries, and a
VAR check that took at least a minute to complete. And in any
case, the goal was scored after 3 minutes and there certainly
had to be that much added.

And not forgetting the Wolves keeper time wasting for which he
was cautioned for.. A good performance from Mr Moss as well..

On another thread it was stated that referees dont stop their
watches during delays to the game in the uk top flight,
therefore until Independent time keepers are introduced, we will
never know what is the correct amount of stoppage time to play.
Mr moss, apart from getting in the path of the ball a few times,
had a good game and i thought the stoppage time allowed was
about correct.

Because it probably did not meet the following criteria.
If the ball touches the referee or another match official and
goes into the goal, or results in a change of possession or a
promising attack, a dropped ball will be awarded.

Precisely - both times I saw him get hit by the ball the team
retained possession, but neither resulted in a promising attack.

If PL & EFL Referees are not stopping the watch for delays
during the game, then they should be, in my opinion. If they did
so, I agree that the "stoppage time" would be more accurate than
the "guesstimate" we have now. I especially dislike the
well-worn tactic of substitutions being made after the amount of
added time has been announced, all designed, of course, to use
up time unfairly. If the teams knew the watch had stopped and
they had nothing to gain, it might stop them from doing it,
barring genuine cases of injury, of course.
