       Overall, Not very good
I was sat very close to the assessor (I note a different one to
usual) and I overheard him say its his first season, only got
one thing obviously wrong all game and that he's seen much much
       worse.
He wasn't particularly offensive, and at times fairly refreshing
with suspected soft fouls/going down easy but just wasn't very
good at making the correct decisions

Didn’t think he was too good either ,just bang average, strutted
about a bit giving the impression he thought he was good ,
looked bamboozled at half time when he was booed off , in my
opinion he was fair to both sides and consistent , just
consistently wrong to such an extent that the players just
seemed to get on with it . I’d cut him some slack for being a
first season ref but in saying that we have had others who were
much better. Wouldn’t be upset if we didn’t see him again
however he was still a class above Sargison .

May I add also, Argyle have got a fan who is seriously ill, a
young lad. Always putting a smile on your face, and on saturday
Ron Garfield was playing with Joe, allowing him a play with the
kit, because he was 4o. Top man, genuine bloke also.

Just so there is no confusion as to who is the recipient of your
very kind words, it is Ron Ganfield. Ron has been about for ages
and is genuinely a very pleadant individual

Ron is amazing with young kids. I hope when he ends his active
career he coaches youngsters, he would be so good at it. A few
seasons ago when he was at Southampton as AR, I was guesting
with the ref. The ref concerned had made a dreadful error the
week before live on sky as you do and had a week of being slated
& ridiculed in the press, we'd been texting each other like
crazy all week as I tried to support him through it, as a
friend, so he & I were quite emotional when chatting because of
it. Neither of us noticed that bmb jr was getting very upset
seeing mum and Uncle ref both so emotional. Ron however did
notice and apart from sitting building lego & magnetix models
under the table with him to distract him, disappeared off with
him and when they returned bmb jr had a big smile on his face, a
pocket full of sweets and chocolate and a tray with cookies, a
glass of milk and chocolate cake!! Ron had taken him to the
kitchen and they had raided it! He was the only one bmb jr would
share his goodies with!! As they went off to get changed and
ready for the match, jr gave Ron a massive hug and as a kid who
is autistic, that is unusual for him & Ron said to him I'm
looking after Uncle ref today, then gave me a hug and kiss &
said don't worry, I have his back today, he's going to be fine.
He was fine as well & had a superb game! Will never forget that
kindness from him, he'd never met us before and I've sadly not
met him since to say thank you to him. He has a beautiful heart.

I'm sure the above testimonial will more than suffice!

absolute legends at what they do - from Martin Cassidy to Rich
Melinn and Eddie to the younger up and coming guys.

If you know Ron or ever speak to him, please let him know his
kindness one weekend at Southampton a few years ago did not go
unnoticed and was appreciated more than he will ever know! They
often get the bad feedback but probably rarely hear the good
       stuff!
