I'm not convinced it's the most sensible appointment - I've no
problem in general with Taylor etc. doing Man Utd or Dean doing
Liverpool but not sure appointing them to an especially
'sensitive' game is the most sensible approach. Rather like
David Coote's appointment as VAR on a Liverpool game a few weeks
ago, it seems to create more trouble than it's worth.
I'm surprised we don't having Boxing Day appointments etc. yet
but guess schedule for 2 Jan has yest to be confirmed so
presumably we'll get later appointments once that happens.

Atkinson with a Derby game again. No game for Tierney since that
debacle at West Brom. Still no Madley Jones or England!
Huge game for Bankes at the bottom!

Personally I don't have an issue with Taylor/Kavanagh etc.
refereeing a game between two Manchester teams or most
Manchester V non-Manchester teams.
I'm not sure it's sensible when it's a Liverpool V Man Utd or
Leeds V man Utd type game though. That's nothing to do with the
referee, just the headlines it can generate in the media which I
think it's sensible to sometimes avoid.

He’s from wythenshawe which One could argue technically it is in
South Manchester albeit historically used to part of Cheshire.
The rate at which Greater Manchester is expanding the old
ceremonial counties are largely redundant!
