So Xhaka throwing his body across Kane's midriff to stop him
shooting on the edge of the area, one of the most cynical you
will see, and not getting a yellow card is common sense? What a
load of nonsense! It's a foul and a yellow card all day, every
day of any professional football match.

It was nothing more nor nothing less than a foul and a free kick
was given. There simply is no need for the obsession for yellow
cards which proliferates in English Premier League football
these days --even great tackles are being rewarded with yellow
cards.
I will agree that things are definitely getting worse ever since
the 2018 World Cup when FIFA started interfering with the
decisions by onfield officials.
Mind you, it will get even worse until someone sees sense and
lets officials do their job without outside interference.

“embarrassment” and “shocking” you’re going to be in for some

Xhaka prevented a very likely goal from Kane by committing that
foul, how it went unpunished does not make any sense.
Particularly when you compare to Lo Celso's yellow for next to
nothing on the half-way line. Madness.
And Paul Tierney deciding that Pereira committed violent conduct
today was an even bigger joke, what was he looking at!?!? The
same man on VAR who decided Son's "kick" on Rudiger last season
was a red. It is NOT violent conduct!

No laws wrong in what I've said in that post, just incompetence
from Martin Atkinson and Paul Tierney in their inabilities to
see what is a yellow card offence. Truly shocking decisions.
And we've seen another one courtesy of VAR Peter Bankes tonight.
Ones that most pundits and players just do not agree with week
after week!

Correct VAR decision tonight because the foul started outside
the box and continued on into it, therefore, a penalty is
correct. All modern fans want correct decisions whereas I do not
agree with VAR at all.
Pundits are not worth the money they are paid whic his why I
watch with the sound turned off and listen to some smashing old
vinyl and am not influenced by anything except how good the
music is.

I thought mr atkinson had a good game, i thought he refereed
using his vast experience, an old fashioned
Type of performance. He let the game flow and kept control very
well.
The more i watch games with var in england, i am inclined to
agree with you ashington we shouldnt have it.
Where it was one mans decision and final before now it the
opinions of two refs who might not agree with each other. I am
also sure after mr scott overruled the var refs have been
advised not to in future.
I Cant say i agree with you that var got tonights decision
right, but a matter of opinions.

My point is that it must have been correct because it was given
by VAR and VAR is all powerful in the modern game ---it can
overturn decisions, see things that onfield officials can't is
the weapon of FIFA in its attempts to change the game beyond
recognition etc., etc. ad nauseam.
I must not say any more because I get chastised because I state
my mind about the subject and it upsets a few because I won't
let it drop.
Sorry to all I offend, it's a shame it's not TV because I could
give you a numer to call if you have been upset.
