       I think that Mr Young must have been a school teacher in a
       previous life because it appears that he likes to write reports

       Average of just over 4 per game and that doesn't include the
       dismissals.

       I wonder which referee has gone the longest without a cardfree
       match. I have neither the time nor the confidence in soccerbase
       to check.
       However off the top of my head I'd go for Alan Young who does
       not appear to have ever had a cardless match in his 6 years of
       refereeing at "Conference" level or above.
       This will not surprise anyone who saw him at Portman Road last
       season !!

       Probably does them at work  ;).  One of the legion of FA and
       County FA "cronies" that dominate the lists of Referees and
       Assistant Referees.
