For once, and I agree I’m in shock at the thought. ... I agree
       with him!

Suprise, suprise. I also agree with Hacketts comments. There has
been some very good football and refereeing this weekend but all
we are talking about is the farce known as the operation of VAR.

“In my time we generally we probably got one key major incident
wrong during a round of Premier League fixtures but now we’re
getting two or three per game.”
Well I'd say that bit is very much exaggerated!

It would be interesting to hear what was said in the apparent
animated conversation at Stockley Park between Neil Swarbrick
and VAR Stuart Attwell, pictured in The Times today and shown on
TV yesterday. As ever, the PGMOL remains silent when some sort
of comment or explanation might just take the heat out of these
       controversies.

The match was shown on Sky, but what was a cameraman or
photographer doing in the room anyway, presumably with someone's
approval? It seems bizarre to have an animated conversation if
they knew someone was filming it.

I don't agree the standard is falling, I feel that is a false
image created by the usage of VAR and in particular with the
current LOTG as they are written. The wrong things are being
highlighted. They are technical decisions I agree there and as
the LOTG stand, they are technically correct, which is what
people wanted isn't it? That does not suggest an increase in
referee error to me when the margins for offside are now so
finate they are not written with the capabilities of the human
eye in mind. The handball law is just a complete and utter farce
and completely at odds with the spirit of the LOTG.
The LOTG need a complete overhaul with the reintroduction of
       common sense!

I think there have always been some cameras in there, because
it's been quite common since VAR was introduced in the PL to
sometimes see a shot of the VAR team in operation.
I guess if it always like that then you just get used to it,
like when people go on to reality TV shows and quite soon
'forget' the cameras are there. It sounds like it's not unusual
for Swarbrick to go in and speak to the VAR team (which I
disagree with) but for whatever reason this is the first time I
remember Sky showing such a conversation.

Perhaps as it is the first time it supports a "conspiracy" after
       a "controversy"?

       In The Times this morning:
" PL referees will back moves to persuade football's law makers
to revert to the old handball law, with many match officials
disillusioned by some of the decisions they have been obliged to
make this season. The International FA Board (Ifab) is to
consider a request by UEFA to scrap the new wording....."
