It has to stop with this VAR nonsense after the Patrick Bamford
decision of offside. Crazy stuff.
Question is it the VAR make the decisions on offsides or the
AVAR?

The decision is just wrong on the Bamford disallowed goal. What
do VAR and AVAR see.

If any part of Bamford was offside it was his fingers, which is
NOT offside. Just looked at the stills again. VAR and AVAR
again bringing the game into disrepute but the doesn't matter as
the officials will all be employed for the next round of games.

In the Everton game there was an obvious offside but the
Assistant, as currently instructed, didn’t flag. Digne was then
clattered by McGuire and needed treatment: it could have been
worse.
Absolutely farcical. What about awareness of player safety? At
our lowly level I always ask Assistants for a quick flag in
those circumstances. Surely that’s common sense? Common sense,
what am I thinking?

I'm not sure anyone really makes a 'decision' as such. A process
is followed where the lines are drawn on - I think by the
technical operator - and the system either says it's onside or
offside. There's no 'can't quite tell' option.
Again, I think to blame a particular person or set of officials
is wrong - unless there is clear evidence that they have
misinterpreted something or carried out the process incorrectly.
They're all following the same process that has been agreed by
the 20 PL clubs and no doubt we'll see it repeated time and
again this season and people will say 'How can Andre Marriner
judge that' or 'How can Craig Pawson tell from that angle'.
quite possibly this is another case like Everton V Liverpool
where the change in the handball law has led to an offside that
wouldn't have been given last year.

Sorry, but I have no sympathy. Players, managers, pundits,
supporters, have all complained for years when players were
offside by millimetres, they have now got what they wanted in
that decisions are factually correct but now suddenly don't want
that anymore. As is often said, be very careful what you wish
for.
They can only assume the technology is correct, and as
ReadingFan has said that wouldn't be offside last season but is
now because it uses the t-shirt line rather than shoulder.

Peter Walton takes about balance - keeping going in case of a
goal which can then be checked. Sorry but players safety is far
more important than whether a goal is scored or not!
