This has been picked up in today's Times by Peter Walton as an
example of double standards by Stuart.

I do wonder if he received some "advice" from his peers (or
bosses) regards the previously soft award.
This may well have had a bearing on his threshold of a foul
inside the area this week.
Not definite but perhaps food for thought...........

And Stuart Attwell is back in Europe this week as VAR to Anthony
Taylor this time in the CL on Wednesday.

isn't working now. It probably made sense in some ways when VAR
was first introduced in PL because people were wary about there
suddenly being a flurry of stoppages and decisions changed and
the feel of the game completely changing but now people have
largely got used to VAR being something involved (whether they
like it or not) and 'Why wasn't VAR used?' tends to get asked a
lot more.

VAR seems to get involved when it
shouldn't..................and when it should it
doesn't.........I give up!
Arsenal's 'goal' last night shouldn't have been disallowed
anyone?

I will always try and justify a 'disagree' post. In this case,
there was clear and direct interference with the Leicester
goalie, and the referee, via VAR and AR who flagged, was right
to disallow the goal. Redstripe - nothing personal, I note that
you were asking the question rather than putting forward a view.

I'm not convinced Acme....I don't think there was any
interference at all.
i thought the Lino flagged because he thought P-E-A touched it
in.....we will never know I guess

The camera from directly behind the goal showed that the Arsenal
player did not interfere in any way with the GK.

Apparently Attwell intervened as VAR tonight in the CL for a
holding offence - Taylor was the referee who gave a penalty in
the end.
