I would imagine when you add in Mark Scholes and Peter Kirkup
you would have well over 1000 Premier League appearances

Does this mean Oliver is now the only SG1 referee to be
appointed for all 5 possible PL games so far as Referee, with
trips to Tel Aviv and Moscow in the mix as well?
He'll be glad of a holiday if he could fly anywhere without
having to quarantine!
Reading fan mentions Coote is VAR to Oliver in the Merseyside
derby. I notice he's 4O for him in the Russia v Hungary game as
well.
It will be very interesting to see how Robert Jones acclimatises
to the PL. Expectations are high so all the best to him.

Hooper back in championship midweek
Pleased that Jones has finally got a game as well

What’s the reason Jones has been replaced? I think he’s West
Cheshire based isn’t he, so COVID related?

No, he is Wirral based - but he does live in an area with a
signficant number of Covid cases. I work in the area and there
have been a number of cases within my place of work.

Such a shame that we have waited so long for Rob Jones to get a
PL match, he’s then appointed to a decent game and has to come
off it! I sincerely hope all is well

Yes Robert Jones is based in the Wirral which is smack bang in
the middle of Covid restrictions unfortunately.
If Manchester falls foul which in all likelihood it will,
Taylor, Mason, Tierney and Kavanagh could be affected too, which
would be an interesting problem for Riley.
Incidentally, I didn’t realise Tierney was born in Belfast..

Not sure that is the reason. The Wirral is in the Liverpool
tier 3 area but Mike Dean is still travelling to Stockley Park
for VAR duties, and I'm pretty sure Ian Hussin is from
Liverpool.
More likely he is injured, or perhaps has been in contact with
someone showing Covid symptoms so is having to isolate.

Mike Dean lives in Wales now.... I think.
