Although there are a couple who reside in the BH postcode area
of the country for the majority of the season? ;D

I thought sandy Madley was Osset, West Yorkshire?? Can he do
Leeds and or Sheffield Utd?? Can Bankes do Everton or Liverpool?
The county used to be referred to as Heavy Woollen. Don't know
if that's still the case.

The postcode rule went out of the window years ago now. Can't
remember when but certainly a few years. The location question
still pops up every season despite being irrelevant!
It doesn't matter if a referee lives right next door to a FL/PL
ground they can referee the team that plays there unless they or
immediate family members support the club or are employed at the
club. Things like one of their kids in the academy would exclude
them. There are some additional bits eg a Newcastle fan is
unlikely to referee Sunderland either but it's nothing to do
with where they live or what county FA they are registered with
now.
More's the pity, in my opinion, BMB. Neutrality should be "seen
to be done". I believe that officiating local clubs leaves the
door open for accusations of bias, especially if contentious
incidents occur, even if the decision is correct. However, it is
what it is now.

I both agree and don't. I get the logic and can agree with that
but it always seemed silly to me that Keith Stroud couldn't
referee AFCB when he lived right at the other end of the county
to us and had a BH postcode but could referee us when he moved
just over the Hants border despite geographically being far
closer to the ground. He could come & do pitch inspections and
often did but then if he passed the pitch some poor ref had to
drive down in inclement weather from Yorkshire (Craig Pawson one
Boxing Day springs to mind) and hope that they could get back
home safely afterwards. Just made a bit of a mockery to me.

Is my geography right in saying out of all 17 of these
officials, only 2 can be classed as southern? Scott & Hooper.
If so, how can this happen??
