       Peter Bankes- Tottenham Newcastle

Another dubious handball given in injury time. Free kick into
the box Andy Carrol and Eric Dier jump for the ball, Carol heads
it against Dier's arm from a yard away, with Dier not facing the
ball and after a VAR review the penalty is given.
My question is how Dier meant to jump and keep his hands by his
       side?
I think referees need to start being brave and when they go to
the monitor stick to there original decision.

A joke, a travesty. 2 weeks in a row penalties against Spurs
for absolutely nothing, yet Lascelles handles at the other end
moments before and absolutely nothing (correctly) is given.
No more league football for me this season, unimaginable how
       things can get better.
       Shameful, ruined the league.

Totally disillusioned by football now. If this is how the Law
was meant to be interpreted, and however correct it may be, then
it is a farce. A game I once loved I have fallen out with. Only
consolation is that there are more important things in life than
       football.

Thanks for that last line Failed Ref, I appreciate it. So
disillusioned with the game and who gets the decisions and who
doesn't, interpretation of the laws they seem to be making up on
the spot, so it's French Open tennis all the way for 2 weeks
now, where rules are clear and players agree with them 99 times
       out of 100.

That would have been given in Europe for many years, regardless
of the new handball law. FIFA have insisted that England fall
in line, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that penalties are
given for this, English players and fans are just going to have
to get used to it and then possibly campaign for change in new
       season's laws.
The only possible good thing from it is handball decisions will
be more consistent, even if we don't agree with the law. The
Lascalles one was different as the arm was pinned into his body,
which is what IFAB think they should be doing. One thing that
is clear is the officials cannot be blamed, they are doing what
       they are told to.

The problem is not with VAR.
The problem is not with how VAR is used.
The problem is not with the officials who are implementing the
       laws.
       The problem is this LAW.
Football is dead as we know it, god knows what ercations there
would have been if crowds were in the ground
Speaking as someone who no longer referees, I really fell even
more for officials who dont have VAR to refer to.
How many times this happens in a game which is impossible to
spot as has been proved by the so called best failing to see,
must cause them to get more grief than normal.
I am glad I am out of it

LIkewise, I am pleased that I am not officiating these days. The
game at the top level is becoming a comedy programme and the
officials are being hung out to dry, perhaps it's a good job
that fans are not allowed to attend at the moment.

       It's an absolute shambles.
I expect there will be empty stadiums even when crowds are
       allowed back in.
VAR and ridiculous handball decisions are spoiling football.
Does anyone actually know who is behind this?
I don't normally agree with Jamie Caragher but his plea of
despair in commentary was spot on
