It would not surprise me if Robert Madley heads back up towards
his former SG1 status before long, in the same way as Stuart
Attwell. Refereeing at a lower level and away from the glare of
publicity seems to have been doing him some good.

Definite smile when i was watching a game the other evening
(could have been wind)
May need to shift a little bit of his winter fat reserve, i know
it was cold in Sweden/Norway (thanks WB)

Wasn't Norway the country of his banishment? I'm not sure there
is a direct parallel with Attwell who was demoted because of
performances and attainment. There wasn't a hint of disciplinary
about his case as I recall. Politically it won't be quite the
same for Madley to get back to the high profile SG1. I make
absolutely no judgement as to whether disciplinary factors
should be taken into account but I am sure they will be.

I'm not sure whether Darren Drysdale has refereed the Final
before, but I imagine he has blown any chance of refereeing this
year's Final following the goings-on at Ipswich last night.

Following a number of seasons in the EFL, Dean Whitestone and
Gavin Ward had the Trophy final prior to their promotion to the
SG2. Possibly a sign for Charles Breakspear ?
