P TIERNEY - Fulham v Cardiff

Didn’t think Tierney was up to the mark tonight, very quick to
the cards (8 of them) and some puzzling decisions.
Hussin needs to refresh himself on the rules on what constitutes
a foul throw as the long throw that was jettisoned in leading to
the Cardiff corner and the goal was clearly a foot over the
line.

I agree about Tierney. Quite a contrast between the handling of
this match and Kavanagh's assured performance on Wednesday.

What was wrong with the throw-in?
LAW 15:
At the moment of delivering the ball, the thrower must:
stand facing the field of play
have part of each foot on the touchline or on the ground
outside the touchline
throw the ball with both hands from behind and over the head
from the point where it left the field of play
All opponents must stand at least 2 m (2 yds) from the point
on the touchline where the throw-in is to be taken.
The ball is in play when it enters the field of play. If the
ball touches the ground before entering, the throw-in is retaken
by the same team from the same position. If the throw-
in is not taken correctly, it is retaken by the opposing
team.
If a player, while correctly taking a throw-in, deliberately
throws the ball at an opponent in order to play the ball again
but not in a careless or a reckless manner or using
excessive force, the referee allows play to continue.
The thrower must not touch the ball again until it has
touched another player.
He still had the heel of his front foot on the line.

If I may be so bold, it is not Mr Hussin who needs to refresh on
what constitutes a foul throw.
As long as the foot is touching the line or part of the line
(this believe it or not can be just the heel with most of foot
on the field of play) it is a legal throw, despite what the
buffoon that is Danny Higginbottom might tell you.

Why I watch TV games with the sound off and listening to some
good stuff on my vinyl collection! I didn't even know that there
was any discussion about the throw until reading it on here,
mind you, why would there be discussion about the throw?

Rather than looking for foul throws, Hussin and Tierney would
have been better served watching what was going on in the
six-yard area! There were about four reasons for disallowing
Cardiff's first goal.
