If I were a Bournemouth supporter I would be blaming the 2
points gained from a possible 12 against Norwich and Watford
over the course of the season, before blaming that failure of
GLT.

I am an AFCB fan & whilst displeased about the GLT failure I
blame certain players - yes Ryan Fraser I am mainly looking at
you, who decided that they couldn't be bothered for a large part
of the season, for the seasons outcome. He has admitted as such
because he threw his toys out of the pram wanting a big money
transfer, not that there was one available, mind, but silly
little boys who think they are bigger and better than the club
certainly have bigger egos than they do brains... Great way to
market yourself, throw a paddy and refuse to put any effort in,
I'm sure his next prospective boss will be in utter awe at his
work ethic... [emoji57] 1 excellent season after 5/6 mediocre -
reasonable seasons and he thought he was the next Messi! The
disrespect that he and certain other players have shown the
club, the fans and in particular Eddie Howe & Jason Tindall is
why AFCB have been relegated not because Villa possibly got 2
extra points in 1 game out of 38. I say possibly because whilst
it was a defining moment no-one can say with 100% certainty what
the outcome of that game would have been without that error, we
can speculate but that is mere opinion and not fact. The fact is
we had a few bad calls against us, decisions we have seen given
to other clubs or not given against other clubs, I suspect we
did have a few go our way somewhere along the line as well, any
one of those wrong decisions against us could have been a
pivotal moment if they had been called right but they are what
they are.
The more important fact is there were far too many times when
our players simply did not turn up on the day, we've always been
known for our pretty one touch football and being a bit dodgy at
the back, this season we got the dodgy at the back point a fair
few times but without the pretty free flowing stuff where we
often nick an unexpected goal. It was dreadful to watch & the
only time we have ever been that dreadful to watch was under
that fool who took over from Bradders, Paul Groves, boy were we
dreadful then! It wasn't the best under Quinn but he had a squad
full of loanees and tried, Bradders again tried with 3 full
squad changes as his players kept being sold to pay the bailiffs
but we have always looked good under Eddie & Jason, until too
many games this season. The problems began when our old League 1
partnerships that took us through L1 into the championship and
into the PL in quick succession got broken up for "better
quality" players in the last 18 months or so. They didn't have
the love for the club, they had the talent, individually, but
they weren't driven like the old guard. The telepathy was gone,
the fight for the badge at all costs was gone & sulking and egos
came in. That was what caused the downfall.
I hope Eddie & Jason stay, I hope they rebuild a young and
exciting squad again, them doing that brought the success but
they must feel so let down by some players they gave chance upon
chance upon chance to. [emoji20]

Very honest appraisal of what has proved to be a difficult
season for you. If Eddie and Jason stay they will try to
rebuild a team that is attractive to watch and win promotion
again. One thing that surprises me is that Eddie was a defender,
however, both at Burnley and at Bournemouth his philosophy seems
to be that his team would score more than the opposition rather
than trying to tighten the defensive aspects of the team.
In 2015/6 they finished 16th and only Villa (relegated) conceded
more: 2016/7 finished 9th and only 4 teams conceded more and two
of those were relegated: 2017/8 finished 12th but only 3 teams
conceded more and one was relegated: 2018/9 finished 14th and
only Fulham and Huddersfield conceded more and were both
relegated and this last season only two teams have conceded more
---Norwich relegated and Villa --hung on by the skin of their
teeth.
bmb --at least you should be able to enjoy the Championship next
season because I think that it is a far more competitive league
but only time will tell. I just hope that they don't introduce
VAR to ruin things for you! ;D

Jason was a defensive midfielder so you'd think one of them
would have a handle on it! AFCB have always been the same, right
back to the days when John Bond was manager, not that I remember
that long ago, cough, cough! I actually don't remember the days
under John Bond, I was a twinkling or at worst still in nappies,
but he was very good friends with Daddy bmb so he is someone I
remember as a person very fondly, even if not as a manager!
That's by the by though! Even back for as long as I can remember
we have been a progressive team in terms of playing the pretty
one touch stuff and coupled it with completely suicidal
defending! It has been the Bournemouth way for my whole life.
Exciting going forward, quick to break on the counter attack,
dreadful on 1 on 1 with the keeper, hello dude in row Z your
bovril is about to go flying and complete and utter panic in
defense. We have improved in defending set pieces over the last
10 years, they have always been a huge weak point. We've had
many a manager who was a defender or defensive midfielder over
the years and have never been able to defend. Didn't matter so
much in L1 & L2 because the quality of the strikers we played
against were on par with our defence and often couldn't hit a
barn door from 3 feet out especially when suffering from the
shock of having a free shot on goal handed to them on a silver
platter. We stormed the championship playing that way & relying
on scoring more that we conceded worked. Trouble is when we hit
the PL we started to play against world class players. The
defenders didn't give us the time and space to play the pretty
stuff up front which has always been our biggest strength and
the strikers, well there are those who could hit a pinhead from
the halfway line - maybe not quite but you get the point! The
style of play we have relied on for 100 years maybe doesn't
quite suit the top flight unless you also have those world class
players, we didn't & will never be able to afford them in
reality. Best season I have ever watched was the one in the
Championship - I can't wait to revisit it, it's going to be such
a blast! The PL are welcome to keep VAR though thank you very
much! ;D

Firstly villa only gained one point from the sheff utd goal
controversy as the game ended in a draw, however
One point less would have relegated villa.
I for one, being a villa fan, have to admit that there was 4
teams that could not have complained about being
Relegated due to performances during the season. Villa were very
very,very lucky not to have been relegated
As we have not been good enough during the season as a whole.
With regards to the point gained against sheff utd you cannot
say it saved villa, nor that incident in itself saved villa, it
certainly had an effect for sure, but nobody can say if that
incident had resulted in a goal being given the season would
have played out as it has since. The game itself and subsequent
games may have ended in different outcomes. As they say too many
iff and buts, that said villa were very fortunate to stay up.
I feel very sorry for bournemouth and their supporters, i
remember fondly being at the vitality stadium for their
First game in the premier league.
Var and technology or not there will always be events during a
season that go for or against you.

The one PL game I thoroughly enjoyed. Despite not liking the PL
myself, watching my team in the top flight for the first time in
our history was a very special day. Back in the days of being on
1st name terms with the bailiffs it was a day I never thought I
would see and that made it special. Very party like atmosphere
for the home fans before, during and after. I'd have been happy
to have just that 1 season in the PL, just to say we had been
there and done it. We however continue to over achieve!
I did get bored very quickly though I must admit, I swapped the
PL completely for the NBI & donated our ST's every week to a
disabled/terminally ill child via a fan led charity so they
could have a little bit of magic in their lives. Worked for me,
worked for them.
I see some media outlets are saying there is a board meeting on
Thursday to decide if we are going to attempt to sue Hawkeye for
financial compensation - I hope it's just rumours like when we
were allegedly going to sue Man Utd over that stupid bomb hoax
incident but never did! It would disappoint me if the club did
go down that route to be honest.
Also on Twitter there is a tweet saying Spurs had the most
incorrect VAR decisions with AFCB 2nd...

AFCB can absolutely do one...
"mutual consent" in other words go now or be sacked... The board
can do one <--- had to edit that and not write what I really
want to write, wronguns the lot of them. Nothing but contempt
for them.

Jas is currently still at the club as caretaker manager & he'd
have my 100% support if he took the role. I have a lot of love

A sad day indeed with what Eddie and Jas have achieved over a
period of time. To be honest, I can't see Jason staying on
without Eddie, I think that he would feel that he is being
disloyal, however, I could be wrong. Chin up bmb, it's football
and there is nothing ever certain, however, it is only a game no
matter how much money is thrown at it or how much they try to
make it 100% perfect.

I am shocked they have let Eddie go. I thought they would of
given him the chance to carry on considering how well he has
done on such a small budget.
Wonder if he will be favourite for the Bristol City job now.

Is there any reason to believe it's not Howe's decision?
I was expecting them to agree with a parting of the ways. Howe's
been there a very long time for modern football and I think it's
the right time for him to move on for his career.
If Bournemouth actively wanted him out they should have done iti
n January!
