Is it time for Riley to go?
   DIR By: Proudgayref

After a great piece from Richard Keys and Andy Gray on BEIN
SPORTS yesterday where Keys called for Riley to resign due to
the numerous shortcomings of the PL referees using VAR, let’s
take a trip down memory lane where, in my opinion, our current
boss of SG1 referees produced the worst performance I’ve seen in
       recent memory.
I’d also like to hear other people’s thoughts because this is
       important to a lot people.

This is why we need to get the message out... on whatever
platform! Because the best league in the world is being managed
by the worst in the world.

       I disagree with 2 things there - 1 - I personally don't think
the PL is the best league in the world & I am not alone in that
view and 2 - there are worse than him out there in other
leagues. Yes seriously there are worse than him!! I do however
think that one of the biggest leagues in the world, which the PL
is, needs a far better leader and they do not have that now.

And surprise, surprise, this dreadful performance from Riley was
all in favour of Manchester United! 8 penalties in 8 games
officiated did Martin Tyler say in commentary? Unprecedented.
He was hopeless as a ref in big games, and clearly he's just as
hopeless at appointments, managing and punishing referees for
awful decisions. In just 3 games last night, we saw 3 big, big
       mistakes.

       Replace him with Grandad Walton.

I think it’s time for him to step down standards are nowhere
near the level they should be. The running of VAR is a prime
example of this. It has been nothing short of an absolute
embarrassment. One of if not the best league in the world and
some of the worst officials. The appointments are a prime
example of this absolutely shambolic. I think they need a well
respected ex official someone like Webb but he’s unlikely to
with his role in the MLS. Or another option could be Mark Halsey
someone who was very well respected by fans, managers and
players alike and who has previously said on Twitter he would
consider taking the role if offered.

Really agree with your reply except from the bit where you said
Halsey would be a good replacement... he was a average referee
at best and far too lenient! Plus he has been too public with
his criticism of our current bunch of mess.

After the public attacks Halsey has made on some of the SG1
referees there is absolutely zero chance of him getting the role
should it ever become available, even less so since he teamed up
with Keith Hackett to continually criticise PGMOL.

Why don't you link them all up and we can say whether they were
all penalties or not? Maybe Campbell shouldn't be sticking his
leg out at knee high in the penalty area when the ball is on the
       ground for a start.
