My point was more one of surprise that having adjudged it a foul
and then it being subject to review for SFP Mr Atwell didn't
consider it worthy of a caution.
I'm not saying whether IMHO any card would have been appropriate

I don’t think Attwell did view it as a foul, i didn’t see him
play the advantage

> I am sorry ARF but I do not believe that this picture proves
the case for a red card. The ball can be seen moving off to the
right which was where it was always going once Cahill played the
ball. The picture does not actually show Cahill making contact
with King's ankle, although I accept that contact was made.
King's ankle appears to be already bent which may help to answer
why he had to go off. I would accept that a caution was
justified, but not a red card. I will collect my tin hat for any
responses.

Not going to criticise for thinking it's a caution rather than a
sending off (although I would argue in favour of the latter
rather than the former)! I do have an issue with Ashington46's
attitude of "back in my day" etc. etc. though. Football has
evolved from then (IMO in general for the better, but I'm sure
there are a lot of people who think differently) and judging
incidents in the modern game based on what was/wasn't
permissible in a bygone era simply can't be done. For me any
referee giving less than a caution for this is failing to
proficiently apply the Laws of the Game (as they now are), and
is neglecting the safety of the player on the receiving end of
the tackle, as well as any other players on the pitch, who could
subsequently be tackled in a similar manner without the offender
expecting/receiving any sanction.
IMO it’s the laws that are wrong. They are constantly being
moved towards a non contact sport!
ajb ---sadly, those days will not be too far away if they keep
changing TLOG in the direction that they have been going for the
last few years.
All it takes is for Academies to be instructed that players
should not tackle which can easily be introduced. Upcoming
referees instructed that any physical contact must be a foul one
way or the other and the object is achieved within a few years.
This will encourage more players to fall over at the slightest
touch and will make the job of the officials more difficult than
it already is.
This seems to be the direction that the modern fan wants the
game to go because the cry 'foul' for any contact on the
players they support.
Yes, I do prefer the game as it used to be played, however,
modern fans tell me that I watched rubbish players, the pitches
were poor, the officials were even worse ----I do wonder how the
game has survived, particularly when you consider that there
were not very large amounts of money thrown around in those days
to keep things going. Never mind, life goes on.

It's been mental down here. Grockles everywhere as you have seen
on the news! Us locals are all barricaded in their homes trying
to stay away from them. The illegal parking, oh man. Bumper to
bumper down both sides of the road, all over the pavements and
even just dumped in the middle of roads. Absolute nightmare for
the locals and more importantly our emergency services.

I will however add that there is no-one I would rather see in
charge at AFCB than Eddie & Jason. If we are relegated, and it
does look more likely than not, then I hope we can keep a hold
of them. I can't imagine life at Dean Court without them there.

Not forgetting these prats who’ve indeed congregated down there
and in Brighton have forgot we are still in a dangerous
situation.
I hope these idiots realise when the infections rise and IF we
get a second wave, that they have no reason to complain about
being put in lockdown again and I hope this time any culprits
don’t get furloughed. They’ll soon be screaming at the
government for help despite ignoring social distancing.

Good performance from Attwell, steady and let the game flow,
good advantage for the Winning moment/penalty decision. Var
doing its job well too
