As far as analogies go, this up there with the best of them for
me!
Two big games in four days for Oliver, Burt and Bennett. One
thing I've not noticed until now is the 4O is an AR. Is this
normally the case? Should there be an injury to Michael would
the senior most AAR take over and the 4O replace the AAR?

I think that is what would happen. Ever since AARs were
introduced the 4O has been a reserve assistant.

Yes FIFA badged AAR would take over, whilst experienced ex FIFA
ref continues a watching brief
I think all Elite UEFA officials will get games, so there will
be a number of countries with multiple representatives

Yes. AAR1 becomes ref, AAR2 becomes AAR1 & the 4O becomes AAR2.
As 4O is an AR I think the theory has been it's easier for him
to slot in as AAR or AR should either be needed instead of a ref
who may well not have picked a flag up in 10 years. If the ref
is unable to take over as 4O the Referee Liaison officer from
the country FA is a likely candidate to take over as 4O. Ádám
Németh did exactly that in an earlier round CL/EL game in
Hungary this season

It's an interesting case because there seems to be a
disagreement between FIFA and UEFA for those 2. UEFA seems to
prefer Taylor as his appointments are more sonorous and he
already had 4 K.O. matches so far.
FIFA, on the other hand, clearly prefers Oliver. He is going to
the U20 again and seems to be considered for the 2022 WC. Of
course we shouldn't forget who is the President of the FIFA
Referee's Committee.

But it was Oliver who got the Champions League quarter-final
last year.
Do UEFA decide who will represent England at Euro 2020 or is
down to the FA to nominate? I remember the situation in 2016
where it seemed the English authorities wanted Atkinson but
Collina wanted Clattenburg (so both went! Is there a chance we
will see two referees from the same country at the Euros again?

Spain/Germany/Italy/Netherlands more than England.)
I think Oliver is the better and more consistent of the two and
I think he is the most likely to go, although I can see there's
an argument that Taylor's style might be more 'European'.

Oliver got the QF under PLC. Now with Rosetti in charge, things
seem to have changed.
Regarding EURO. UEFA will make the decision. But with Elleray on
the UEFA Ref Committee, I am certain that the English FA will
have a saying on the nomination.

Lord Elleray will probably have the casting vote on who out of
the two goes I suspect. Mind you, he probably wasn’t thrilled
when Clattenburg was invited to the last tournament.

And Michael Oliver awarded a penalty to each team in the first
half in Spain. Both looked correct decisions but significant
encroachment at the first penalty (not unusual!).

Huge mistake by Orsato's AR2.
First goal of Eintracht is clearly offside. Such mistakes are
not acceptable at such level. That could mean the end of
Orsato's season.

I would have hoped it was the end of Orsato's season anyway!
It's debatable if he'd done enough to merit a quarter final - I
certainly don't think he should be appointed to a semi-final.
