It is a big appointment for him certaintly, it is only 1-0 on
aggregate, so the match is still open. Zenit is a very hard
place to go, I Expect the atmosphere to be very hostile.

He Should Definately be In for a second leg Tie In The Champions
League last 16 then.

Looks as if Oliver had a busy evening with 33 fouls and 8 yellow
cards. That game would have been a good test for him in that
atmosphere and the teams involved.

He Should Definately be In for a second leg Tie In The Champions
League last 16 then.

It seems that only referees with VAR experience will get a CL
match on R16. That would rule out Taylor and Oliver
(unfortunately).

I reckon that Oliver (or Taylor) will get a last 16 Champions
League game. There surely must be limitations otherwise on the
referees who are available and Oliver/Taylor have done various
games with VAR in England, even if not in domestic leagues -
Oliver did the FA Cup final for example. He surely can't need
too much more experience before doing a CL game.
