I think that is being very, very hopeful - as was just said in
the government daily briefing by the medical expert, it's more
likely there will be a surge in autumn and winter rather than a
decline. The summer months are probably the best time to play.

The FA Cup Final has been seriously diminished in recent years.
If it were to go ahead in these present circumstances without a
crowd, who provide most of the atmosphere at a " carnival"
occasion, then the whole business would appear redundant to my
way of thinking. In this most extraordinary and unprecedented of
years the correct course is not to continue with the FA Cup
until next (hopefully) year starting from a base to be
determined. Thus the matter of Match Official appointments this
year would not arise.

All of the indications are that if the league season finishes,
the cup competitions will too.
Whilst none of this is ideal, I think if you can finish a
competition then you could.

It's a game ---just as it always has been. Something that has
been lost because of the obscene amounts of money connected with
the game these days at some levels.
The game is a form of entertainment which many people choose to
watch. By attending matches the crowd create an atmosphere,
sometimes much more hostile than it should be meanwhile, on the
field, basically the players play the same game as is played on
the local recreation ground, school playig field or Wembley
Stadium. As have always said --it's just a game ----which has
lasted the passing of time, in spite of some of those running it
messing around with Laws etc.
Just a thought, there are probably more people in the world who
don't give a damn about football than there are fanatics like us
lot on here.

I think if I was a fan of a club still involved in the FA Cup
then, on balance, I would rather the competition be completed
than scrapped (if safe to do so of course.) And certainly I'd
have that view if I was a player who only have a certain number
of opportunities to win a cup, particularly if from the likes of
Norwich, Sheffield United and Newcastle.
In any cae, it seems that the FA Cup will be played to a
conclusion if the Premier League can restart - there have been
reports it's been agreed between the FA and PL that the FA Cup
final will still be the last match of the domestic season, so a
decision on the approach to take regarding the match officials
will be required regardless of our personal views.

don't give a damn about football than there are fanatics like us

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not aching for the 2am alarm calls to
watch City in countless empty stadiums devoid of any emotion.
With the numbers of people still dying from this in the 500s, to
resume the PL season just so Liverpool can win it properly is
just morally reprehensible.
I do wonder if the same luxury would be afforded if it were say
Chelsea, or Manchester City, sitting pretty at the top of the
league.

I think Liverpool are the easiest part to solve of all this
because it's clear they'll win the title either way.
It's what you do about relegation and promotion and the European
places that is more complex and why the season should be
completed if it can be.

Scrap relegation. The current placings determine European spots,
subject to Man City's appeal hearing. Simple
