       Sad news reported earlier today on Twitter:

       “Robert Allan Banks from Manchester died at the weekend from
       coronavirus, aged 78. After being a #Referee on the Football
       League in England he brought the same integrity to
       #AmericanFootball, being President of @BAFRAOfficial.
       @BAFAOfficial @IFAFMedia”
       I assume this was the Mr Banks who was an active Referee in the
       late 1970s?  If so - is there any more information on his FA
       career?

       Sad news. Allan (RA) Banks was a Football League referee based
       in Radcliffe near Manchester from 1979 to 1986. I think he
       departed early due to injury; he didn't become an international
       referee.
