Thanks Gelstay and welcome to the site. If it was Jim Ashworth
who did the appointing, I think it must have been after the end
of the 1990/91 season when he retired from the referees list.
That being the case, we seem to be limited to 1995 and 2000 when
1st April fell on a Saturday, and certainly those years were the
only ones between 1991 and 2000 when Crystal Palace played on
1st April (but accepting that fixtures involving other clubs may
well have been played midweek in other years). Sorry, I cannot
recall this interesting situation and cannot help further.

Laws, Law & Lawson did a game at Sheffield Wednesday.
Assistants Smith & Wesson were placed together, as were Ryan &
Griggs.

Also maybe 1st April 2002 which was Easter Monday.
