Not sure he will be allowed to. He no longer officiates in Iran,
he joined the A league in Australia in September. Anyone else
who has moved countries has not been allowed to continue on the
FIFA list (Clatts & Gillett spring to mind) so I'd be surprised
if he was allowed to continue to represent Iran as a FIFA
official.

My thoughts are that the difference is that Clattenberg and
Gillett moved confederations, Faghani hasn't.

Good point! I hope he does carry on, decent ref more often than
not.

Is Willie Collum that out of favour?

I don't even see him going to the Euros this summer (when are we
expecting that list of officials to be announced?)

Definitely after the Play-OFF matches.

Is it right that Orsato is 45 later this year? He'll be 47 by
the 2022 WC then? is he really going to be considered? It seems
the likes of Rocchi came off the list relatively early.
It seems there's no other Italian nomination so it will be
interesting to see. Could they perhaps end up in a similar
position to England in 2018?

Guida or Mariani perhaps?

Mariani was just promoted to First Group without an EL GS match.
Guida had some good appointments but he is not ready for WC
level. Plus he is also a First Group and not Elite.

Do you think Orsato will go Edy? Is it possible Italy don't have
a referee at all?

I think that FIFA/UEFA and AIA will push him to continue. I
can't imagine Italy without a WC referee. Don't forget that 2
Italians are at FIFA (Collina) and UEFA (Rosetti).
