What about Adam Nunn? What’s his role as an assistant Video
referee? Is he not watching this as well? Two of them should be
sacked simple as

Maybe it wasn’t a red card to Grandad when he was officiating in
ancient times, but it’s a clear as mud sending off.

I can’t understand why people are saying VAR should recommend
Oliver should look at the monitor.
VAR was brought in to correct the clear and obvious errors or
where a referee has missed an incident. Lampard was right: We
don’t need the monitor in this situation; everyone knows it’s a
red card and the incompetence of the VAR official has cost this
decision

No retrospective punishment will be issued by the FA as
apparently the match referee AND VAR have seen the incident and
felt it wasn’t a red card.
Words fail me.

I agree it should have been possible to make the decision
without the monitors although clearly it wasn't. I'd have had
more confidence in Oliver getting it right though if he'd
looked.
We should also remember it is now PL protocol for the monitors
to be used before a red card is shown/rescinded after a VAR
intervention, which should make it easier for the VAR as if the
referee disagrees with a referral they can make their chosen
decision at the time rather than arguing about it afterwards.

The real rubbish is the amount of rubbish people speak about on
here. These officials are fully paid professionals who aren't
good enough or fit for purpose. Coote is a disaster of an
official.. And once again I question what is Adam Nunn's role in
all this? Surely he is there to support the officials not make
them look like idiots. If you weren't doing you job properly in
life you would be sacked. I don't see why the same shouldn't be
the case for this untouchables. But how dare I have an opinion.
Absolute tripe with the video technology that people can stand
over these type of decisions.. As the fella said Steve Wonder
would have seen that.
