       Absolute shambles
       First, before Athletico Madrid made it 1-0, Liverpool should
       have had a throw in which was awarded to Athletico Madrid
       Second, Liverpool should have had a penalty for handball
       Third, a free kick is given againt Mo Salah when he stands on
       the ball.
       Absolute shambles, supposedly the "Best Officials" with VAR and
       they still can't get it right.

       Apart from the fact that VAR can't get involved with any of
       those things, save for perhaps a supposed handball that I
       certainly haven't seen.
       The throw-in was wrong, and whilst Salah's challenge would be
       fine in England once you raise your foot millimetres off the
       floor it is given as a foul.

       Tonight's match illustrating exactly in which direction the game
       is going with lots of fouls given for the slightest contact,
       players falling around for nothing and holding their heads
       resultling in the referee stopping the game and then the player
       miraculously recovers because it wasn't his head at all, it was
       just a minor knock to his foot/ankle/leg.
       This is a top European game and is a clear indication of the way
       in which the authorities want the game to progress ---not good
       at all, however, we have to go along with it or stop watching
       this rubbish.

       Doesn't there need to be some kind of "contact" with the
       opponent?
       e.g. you kick or graze the other player, when you stop the ball
       and they kick you, I agree a foul, to the person who was kicked,
       not to the one who was kicked. The fact the assistant was the
       closest official by about 30 yards to the incident and didn't
       feel it was a foul, indicates a lot.
       You could tell a lot by the players reactions tonight, it wasn't
       a reaction of "ah ref I really wish you hadn't of given that
       against me" but of "bloody hell ref are you actually kidding
       with call? Did you win a competition to ref this game?"
       I'm not going to question the polish fella's integrity but if i
       was going to give a presentation on bias I reckon I could save a
       lot of time by just playing a video of this game.
       There were so many fundamental, basic errors that it's
       bewildering.

       Very poor performance by a ref who I have rated in the past.
       Very inconsistent.
       Some really poor decisions tonight. Not up to the standard of
       Champions League. Klopp was right in that he was cautioned - but
       what about Simone?
       With Rosetti watching - I wonder if his place is under threat at
       Euro 2020.
       BTW....I heard that Lahoz was outstanding in the game at
       Dortmund. He is the No1 in UEFA right now
