Anthony Taylor - Chelsea v Man United

How has VAR not told Anthony Taylor to issue a straight red card
to Harry Maguire for violent conduct. Absolutely shocking from
Chris Kavanagh. Plus Taylor books Willian for diving when he is
clearly fouled.
Poor from the Manchester man.

I don't think Taylor (or Atkinson) has been at his best for the
last few months at all.
Wrong decision to caution Willian and the Maguire incident
seemed very similar to Son. If that was a red card, this should
have been too.

This is precisely why Oliver in my estimation is far higher in
the pecking order. Taylor has been awful tonight thus far and
this is happening too regularly for an elite status official.
When did Oiiver last have a poor game.... I can't remember.
Kavanagh hasn't been much better at Stockley Park either!!

One of the clearest acts of violent conduct you’ll ever see!
Can’t believe VAR hasn’t given it - I hope Kavanagh would
suggest a red for a similar incident to Oliver on Wednesday as
UEFA are far less forgiving than Mike Riley!

Very poor offering from mr taylor tonight.
Willian incorrectly yellow carded for similuation.
Poor from taylor, the 4th official, dugout side assistant and
var with regard to maguire who should have been
Binned for clear violent conduct. Add insult the said maguire
scores to seal the game, how ironic.
Not sure the first disallowed goal for chelsea was a clear and
obvious error for var to intervene, cant be sure
Fred didnt push azpuliceuta on to williams.
Giroud def offside, no arguements there as per the pres laws of
the game.
Personally i think mr oliver and mr dean are in a different
school never mind a different class as far as refereeing goes
this season.

What Rossetti sees in Taylor is beyond me. He has been utterly
woeful tonight as posters have already said. Think Zouma also
lucky to stay on the pitch for awful tackle on the touchline and
Pedro with two Simone fouls that could quite easily have been
two yellows. Then it kicks off with fred/Pedro and wan-bissaka
and azpilicueta. Taylor not convincing on these at all.
Not helped by poor VAR and Attwell as 4th who i didn’t even see
on the touchline.

It can't be great preparation for Kavanagh to now have a
Champions League knockout stage game 48 hours after that,
presumably flying out tomorrow. Poor today from two of our FIFA
referees.
I thought Taylor started the season well but has been well off
the pace since early December. I think he needs some time out,
both for his own benefit and to ensure appointments are given on
merit, before he goes again - seemingly ahead of the Euros.
I agree Dean and Oliver are a class above the rest. Struggling
to think of too many other star performers amongst SG1 this
season. I think Tierney has generally done well in fairness.

I think Marriner and particularly Mason have had a good season
to be fair to him ( Mason ) I can’t really remember much
controversy surrounding him I know I’ve said it before but I
think VAR has contributed on some scale to some poor
performances in recent months by what are usually some of our
finest refs notably Taylor and Atkinson

I agree that Mason's had a solid season. I think Marriner has
been fine in general too - I can't remember him doing as many
big games this season as previously actually. I think Pawson,
Kavanagh, Attwell and Coote have also developed (quite) well
relative to what you'd probably expect.
I think Taylor has made a lot of poor decisions recently, some
of which VAR have helped spare his blushes a bit. Certainly if
he's going to excel at the very top internationally then he's
going to have to quickly adjust to using VAR because it's here
to stay. Atkinson is obviously probably at a different stage in
his career - is it a temporary blip (I thought Mike Dean had a
slight wobble 3 or 5 years ago) or is it a more permanent
decline? If the latter, it might be best for Atkinson to
consider stopping at the end of the season to avoid drifting too
far from his peak.
