Pleased for him. I personally thought the original sanction was
too harsh although could understand the reasoning.
I hope he will be allowed by everyone to just get on with it and
maybe with some hard work he will be able to work his way back
up the leagues again. I'm sure he will grasp the opportunity
with both hands.
Welcome back Bobby.

I think this is the correct decision. Whilst I was never
completely convinced by Madley as a PL referee, I do feel the
situation could have been handled differently by the powers that
be. However, now the decision has been made, I would rather they
allowed him to return this season with mid-table fixtures to
help him get used to the English game again.
Incidentally, I don't think it will be too long before we see
him back in the select group.

Very happy for him, he is a nice guy who goes out of his way to
help referees of all levels, so very much a welcome back.
Presume this will mean the end of his social media presence
though as I can't see the FA allowing that to continue.

Think putting him back on the NL is harsh, should have at least
put him back onto SG2 as he will still have been one of the
better refs on SG2

I am so pleased for him the correct decision and a warning to
all others that choose to use social media’s foolishly as I
commented in the original posting a few months ago, television
sports commentator recorded on camera spitting at a young
fan........still keeps his job!
All the best for the coming fixtures and seasons Bobby prior to
even blowing a whistle a wiser man I believe that will put this
behind him I am sure

Sorry one and all, I’m going against the feelings here.
Irrespective of the fact I did not think he was a top ref before
he was sacked. He did wrong and was punished. IMO he should not
have been allowed back in this Country as a FL ref. No doubt he
will be fast tracked back to the PL. If he was sacked from most
other professions. Would he have been allowed back. Absolutely
NOT. Therefore he should not have been allowed back here. A very
poof decision .

He made a comment on social media, he went abroad, however, you
think that he should not have been allowed back into the
country. I suppose that you are in complete agreement that those
who have committed far worse crimes and who were scheduled to be
deported, although they are not British, should be allowed to
stay in this country as stated by our legal system.
Madley was foolish, however, his treatment was very much in line
with the treatment dished out to those who are not politically
correct and was way over the top. Yes, he has definitely
offended some people, however, he has apologised and has not
committed any crime as far as the legal system is concerned, so
why should he not be allowed to return to his own country and
follow his profession?

He could certainly have been reinstated to take games in Leagues
1 & 2. Madley was never entirely convincing at top level.
However, when you see the shocking standard in 1 & 2 this season
he would certainly be in the top handful.

I think you're confusing him with Ronnie Biggs!

So as the dust finally settles on this episode, a demotion is
the final outcome (an appeal would potentially have got to this
outcome quicker). I do not think this ultimate outcome can be
argued with, a sanction had to be imposed, however the original
sanction was way too extreme.
