Bobby Madley returns!

In the blog he says he is returning to England and referring in
Leagues 1 and 2 from next season and lower down the pyramid for
the rest of this!

Now confirmed by BBC News.
Former Premier League referee Bobby Madley says he has accepted
an opportunity to officiate in England again.
Madley was sacked by refereeing body Professional Game Match
Officials Limited (PGMOL) in 2018 after sending a video mocking
a disabled person to a friend.
Following discussions with PGMOL, Madley will return as an
official at League One and League Two level from the start of
next season.

Bobbie (BBC Football News), "PGMOL dealt with what they
considered a discriminatory act in the strongest way. There can
be no criticism for that and I have never sought to do anything
other than respect the decision and to learn from it as a
person. I can only thank them for having the ability to forgive,
recognise that one naive moment does not define a person and
offer me a second chance to do what I love to do."
He has agreed to attend a FA Discrimination workshop.
I'll go along with that and well done to the PGMOL for dealing
with Bobbie in this way. I wonder whether we shall see Madley &
Madley together on a game on the PL (ref and 4O or ref and VAR).

Great conclusion to the tale... I think that this is a great
outcome for Bobby. A chance to reignite his career in the
professional game, and common sense has prevailed. We always
need more top referees in our game

Very happy for him, yes he made a mistake and was awarded a
particularly harsh sanction.
That the sanction has been effectively downgraded is sensible
all round.

Damn I thought we’d seen the last of him!! 8)
Joking aside b Madley back where he should be. He should never
have been put in this situation in the first place, so glad
common sense has prevailed!

bobby's clearly had a rough 18 months so glad for him on a
personal level that he hopefully now has a chance to get back in
track.
I was never fully convinced by him as a Premier League referee
(although there was a spell around 16/17 where i thought he was
refereeing very well) but I'd certainly think he could provide
value to Leagues 1/2 initially and perhaps bet promoted from
there, and one would presume he has acquired plenty of life
experience from what has happened. I think the fact he has
blogged and used social media (which presumably won't continue)
has also been rewarding in helping to present the human face of
refereeing.
I guess you can read the PGMO's handling of this in two ways. It
seems a bit odd that they've suddenly given him a way back after
the situation became public, but then at the same time a long
suspension and emotion is perhaps a more reasonable punishment
than the complete end of his career (at least in England.).

A ridiculously harsh sanction in the first place. Rather than
commending them for commuting it, they should be soundly
condemned for the lack of proportionality in the original
sacking.

Have followed him a bit on twitter and I have to say that he has
come across as genuinely remorseful. Wishing him the very best
on his return.

This would mean he could in theory get back onto FIFA in similar
circumstances to Attwell?
