If the FA had asked Gosling to explain his comments or charged
hm with disrepute they would have been seen as acting unfairly
because they had not asked Jon Moss to explain or found any
reason why any action should be taken. In other words, they sat
on the fence and that should be the end of it as far as they are
concerned.
Mind you, I would love to be playing against Gosling in the near
future, there would be a lot of non-stop banter!

It's unusual for the FA not to make a mountain out of a
molehill, so I suppose in this case we can be grateful for small
mercies!

Unless what has been said was blatantly racist or homophobic or
along the lines of other really offensive things or was
genuinely threatening behaviour then it should stay on the
pitch. If the ref has genuinely offended you by a bit of banter
then go and knock on his door and speak to him calmly and just
say, that upset me/I felt that was over the line/I found that
offensive. Ref may not know you feel he has overstepped & I
doubt there is a ref out there who would ever want to do so. Jon
is a lovely guy and I can't see him knowingly offending anyone
and as I said up there somewhere, he's always had a good
relationship with AFCB & been warmly welcomed by the fans &
players alike. That will have gone now and that is such a
shame, years of building up a great mutually respectful working
relationship down the pan. I hope they will speak quietly behind
closed doors, shake hands and move on. There was no denial Jon
said anything about relegation, so he probably did but I suspect
it went along the lines of whistleblowers scenario above
somewhere as opposed to a really nasty comment. Gosling has now
created a barrier between the club and referees that has never
been there, all refs will be wary of speaking to our players
because of it & that is not good.
