There again it would only take doing it one weekend for the
message to get across. After the first couple of dismissals
maybe those left on the pitch would have a long hard think about
what they say & how they say it. It's one big difference between
the PL and the NBI - they use the red card for it here. 2 in the
last match day, in the same game, 3 mins apart! Player 1
screamed in the refs face after a correct yellow and off he
went, play had barely restarted and one of his team mates
screamed in the refs face after a correct yellow and promptly
joined player 1 in the shower. Zero tolerance! It seems to be
something else the PL tolerate/do differently to other leagues.

Or it will probably be like most of the pre-season PGMOL/Mike
Riley officiating statements "This season we are going to clamp

that lasts for a couple of weeks, then the officials revert
to how it was before or relent because of complaints from the
players/management.

Sadly, I have to agree that this would probably be the case.
The officials try to implement things as per the directives
given, however, there are too many outside influences which are
inevitably media-driven and they have to revert to 'how it used
to be' ---sadly, the character is going out of the game at all
levels.

The club did not submit a formal complaint but ... are
disappointed at the response from the Premier League
Make an official complaint then and force a proper response.
Put up or shut up.

Well that appears to be the jist of what was allegedly said (as
per The Times) and on that basis, I have changed my mind and
agree with you that it was a perfectly acceptable and proper
conversation to have. The pity of it, as bmb suggests, is that
AFCB has always been known as a friendly club, not given to
making complaints of this sort. However Jon Moss is hardly going
to be welcome at AFCB games in the near future and other PL refs
are going to be very careful what they say in future, both at
AFCB games and elsewhere. And that, in my view, is a great pity.
Rather than closing ranks and taking no further action, I would
still have preferred to see an apology for any misunderstanding
and a commitment from all involved to learn lessons and move
forward together. Better that than a festering silence which is
what we appear to have now.

Player 1 Könyves got a 3 match ban and player 2 Böde got a 1
match ban as a result of this. Könyves continued screaming right
in the refs face, Böde had the sense to walk away and was going
off the pitch before the red had even been shown. That is
reflected in the bans. An NBII team has been fined 1,000,000Ft
after someone from the club entered the pitch at the final
whistle and threatened the referee. (Average national wage is
around 2,700,000Ft to put that amount into perspective). The
disciplinary committee here back and protect the referees.

This appears to be another case of an overly precious player
being unhappy the minute anyone has the authority to bite back
at them. The players these days aren’t used to being told no due
to the masses of cash they are paid each week. They really don’t
live in the real world if they think this sort of exchange is
bad. Happy to dish it out but won’t take a simple statement back
without crying!

Riley's PGMO do not have the integrity to enforce the Laws of
the Game in respect of players' conduct. They are funded by, and
in the pockets of, the clubs.
The FA are little better concerning themselves more with what
people tweet or put in private emails than the real ills which
burden our game.

There is a very simple answer / response here. The next time
Dan Gosling shows any kind of dissent, don't talk to him just
shove a yellow card at him, and when he inevitable does it again
show him another one.
I've been on the wrong side of this before, where a player has
had a moan at me, I've made a sarky and put down comment back,
player has complained to his manager and I've been reported. If
you can't take it don't dish it out.

Think Gosling was a little unwise to say what he said publicly,
a thboight borne out by the general reaction to them.
What I think is very telling though is that Gosling has faced no
action from the FA.
I fully expected him to be facing a disrepute charge, or at the
very least being "asked to explain his comments".
