Indeed, if the referee's voice recording is stored somewhere
then the authorities will be in a position to comment/act if
required.
I wonder what reaction there might be to an exchange like this (
and I'll sanitise the language )
Player " Come on Ref, your decisions are costing us points,
you're going to relegate us "
Referee " It's not because of me that you're in the relegation
zone is it ? Look to yourself
on that one"
In my book a perfectly acceptable and proper conversation. Or
referees can just shut up and then it's " they never talk to you
"

I happen to think this may have only come about because Moss had
an outstanding game in which he refused to reward Bournemouth’s
play acting, diving, squealing and rolling around, and instead
offered them the get up gesture and waved play on. Up there with
Dean’s performance against arsenal as the best referee at
bramall lane this season

Another “sweep it under the carpet “silence really from the
PGMOL and PL they haven’t really confirmed or denied if Moss
made any comments or not

Every instance of foul and abusive language directed towards the
official(s) now to be be dealt with appropriately instead of
ignoring it as is the current normal practice.

Would love to see it happen. It won't though.

I don't think that they would ever finish a game if this was
taken to the letter of the law ---too many players dismissed!

If they can't accept a bit of 'banter' as some have called it,
the officials should deal with their bit of 'banter' in a
similar fashion using the tools within their gift in the
appropriate manner.
It probably won't happen but Mr Gosling could have made a stand
for players that could have the potential to backfire.
Especially as Mr Moss is probably one of the most affable
officials in the game.

Not sure they would even make it to half time!
There again it would only take doing it one weekend for the
message to get across. After the first couple of dismissals
maybe those left on the pitch would have a long hard think about
what they say & how they say it. It's one big difference between
the PL and the NBI - they use the red card for it here. 2 in the
last match day, in the same game, 3 mins apart! Player 1
screamed in the refs face after a correct yellow and off he
went, play had barely restarted and one of his team mates
screamed in the refs face after a correct yellow and promptly
joined player 1 in the shower. Zero tolerance! It seems to be
something else the PL tolerate/do differently to other leagues.

Or it will probably be like most of the pre-season PGMOL/Mike
Riley officiating statements "This season we are going to clamp
down on or enforce....(insert the latest topical issue)........"
that lasts for a couple of weeks, then the officials revert
to how it was before or relent because of complaints from the
players/management.
