Was not over impressed with Sam Purkiss at Crewe yesterday,
never really showed any real authority, with the Oldham players
when they questioned his decisions, throughout the game, and
gave some strange decisions against both teams. He did allow 7
added minutes for all the time wasting Oldham did and it cost
them in the end.

A very very inconsistent display from Mr Haines at Peterborough
yesterday...if after a 4:0 home win the crowd still boo you off
it is not a good sign...actually the two yellow cards for a Posh
player was a good decision in my eyes, but it did seem he had to
be reminded that the player had already been booked, as long
wait between yellow and red.
However, my biggest concern was his inconsistency in foul
detection especially with 9\5 challenges..some forearm smashes
were let go, whilst sometimes could were given for no reason at
all.
His whole approach meant that players and fans were frustrated
leading to further cautions.
For an experienced official he really did seem to lose control
at times

My views on Mr Haines are well known and I think m'learned
friend TVOS now concurs with me.
Someone in authority should be quietly suggesting to him that
it's time he hung up his whistle, at least as far as the NL is
concerned.

get through one game without flashing his worn out card. He has

I've seen Charles Breakspear a few times. He is rather like the

If only his very good were more consistent then he would be in
SG2 without a doubt. Actually, I think is at least as good if
not better than some in SG2, though as m'learned friend nemesis
would surely point out, that really is damning with praise which
is almost see-through !

Six cautions on Saturday, I wasn't there but the reports do not
contain the usual complaints of over zealous officiating and one
even said he had a decent game. He wasn't responsible for our
defeat...

He was rubbish on Boxing Day, but he’s normally just below
average.

I agree; A very inconsistent display. I didn't feel that the
second yellow card for Nathan Thompson was warranted. It was
just a careless tap on a player who was going nowhere. When the
yellow appeared I initially assumed it was for someone else for
dissent. No quibbles with the other cards. Ivan Toney may feel
hard done by with his in stoppage time given some of the
treatment he received but he gives as much as he gets and he had
been given a clear 'no more' warning previously.
The best that can be said of Mr Haines was that he didn't affect
the result. Even the red card didn't reduce the home dominance.

From the highlights, it looked like the pens and red cards were
justified...

I was at Forest Green last night to watch them play Port Vale.
As a neutral it was a very exciting game!
I agree with both red cards and both penalties.
However, I thought Mr Kettle is probably the most inconsistent
referee I have ever seen. There were a lot of fouls that went
against Port Vale but FGR made the same fouls but he did not
give them.
I would think from last night this could be his last season as
he looked out of position on so many occasions and missed so
many fouls because of this.
What I did find very interesting, was at half time and full time
Mr Kettle was off the pitch with the ball under his arm he did
not want to wait around to shake hands. To me that suggests even
he must be thinking his general performance was not the
greatest.
