Decisions - weekend 1/2 February

Some very bemusing decisions this weekend.
Bournemouth v Aston Villa:A Taylor
Second yellow for lerma. Personally I don’t think it was even a
foul never mind a second yellow. Awful from Taylor. Think Villa
should also have had a free kick in the buildup to the 1st goal.
Watford v Everton: C Pawson
Second yellow for Delph again not convinced it was a second
yellow either. Pawson is a long way from the incident and I
think gets suckered by the reaction of the Watford players
Liverpool v Southampton.: K Friend
Possible pen for Southampton on ings in the second half.
Certainly seen them given
West Ham v Brighton: M Oliver
Late goal for Brighton by Murray ruled out for handball. Didn’t
look like handball at 1st glance so a poor decision from Oliver
Tottenham v Man City - Dean
Penalty for city is correct but he’s blown when the ball is in
play? Since when was this allowed. Loris joins the goalkeeper
encroachment club and then sterling goes down theatrically - no
penalty but could easily be second yellow
EDIT- good decision by Dean to bin zinchenko- clear foul no
attempt to play the ball despite his protest.

Agree with all you have said and also think you can add Andy
Madley to the list for me for his failure to give Baldock a
clear second yellow IMO. I know he had a straight red
overturned, but I could understand that decision in full speed!

I agree some unconvincing second yellow cards and inconsistent
penalty decisions.
I can understand Michael Oliver initially thinking it hit
Murray's hand. I was watching a result programme and they
thought it had to begin with and the MOTD commentator said 'that
looked like handball' when it first happened.
There's no issue with stopping the game for VAR - it happened
several times at the World Cup although I think this is the
first instance in the Premier League. It doesn't make sense to
continue the game if you know that VAR is going to give a
decision at the end of it.

Agreed. But surprised you didn’t add the foul on Firmino in the
first half that was a clear penalty and possible red card.
Equally, a good argument for a back pass in the first half, when
Robertson passed back to Allison.

Outside the prem there was a pass to the gk not given by James
Adcock, resulted in a corner but should have been a fk

In our game at Macclesfield, John Busby gave a throw in to us,
which then led to a goal kick for Macclesfield, when it clearly
came off of our player, absolutely terrible decision which
ruined his very good overall performance.

I thought the foul on Ings should have been a penalty to
Southampton. It wasn't the first contact which was more a coming
together but the second. Surprised VAR didn't get Friend to
award it. Haven't see the Firmino incident.
In the Spurs - City game, I felt the Sterling challenge which
got a YC was a pretty deep orange. I suspect it was one of
those that if Dean had gone Red, VAR wouldn't have overruled it.
No idea why Madley didn't consider Baldock's foul worthy of a
second YC.
The second Yellows at Bournemouth and Watford were certainly
questionable.
ajb95, you must have exceptional eyesight if you immediately
decided Murray didn't handle it. Like some of the pundits
including on Goals on Sunday, it looked like handball to me as
it did to the West Ham defenders who immediately appealed. It
seemed to take Marriner quite some time to conclude it wasn't.
